ABOUT EUROPE:
EUROPE’s place as a legendary classic rock band was platinum-stamped early in their career, having enjoyed an explosive period of worldwide success in the ‘80s, under-pinned by their hit album and single The Final Countdown, before going on hiatus between 1992 and 2003. They reunited and quickly settled into a period of re-establishment which has seen them re-enforce their reputation worldwide as one of the premier purveyors of blues-tinged classic rock with an edge and some kick. Their last album, 2012’s Bag of Bones, saw EUROPE hit the UK top 40 rock album charts and debut at #2 on the Swedish national charts.

SPINEFARM DROPS THE NEEDLE FOR RECORD STORE DAY 2015
SPINEFARM RECORDS will be supporting Record Store Day 2015 with a number of releases highlighting different aspects of the rock ‘n’ metal genre…
Taking said genre into brave new worlds are UK riff-gurus Turbowolf, who have just released their new / second studio album, ‘Two Hands’, via Spinefarm Records / Search & Destroy. Having recently toured with both Royal Blood & Death From Above 1979, advocates of the Turbowolf cause, the Bristol quartet are now very much on an upward trajectory, with Radio 1 playing the recent singles (‘Rabbits Foot’ & ‘Nine Lives’), and a headline UK tour currently underway...
On the other side of the Atlantic, Atreyu are a band who have already left a serious mark… One of the key architects of the '00s American metal resurgence, selling over a million albums in a 10 year period, the Orange County outfit simmered on the back-burner after 2009… but now they’re back in business with a brand new studio album, set for release via Spinefarm Records / Search & Destroy in late summer / early autumn 2015, backed by a comprehensive touring plan.
Just as Atreyu were breaking big in the US, so UK sextet SikTh were turning heads with their debut album, ‘The Trees Are Dead & Dried Out Wait For Something Wild’; released in 2003, the record showcased a style combining elements of extreme metal, tech metal, prog & spoken word with plate-juggling musicianship & extended atmospheric passages to create a style that has cast a huge shadow over the past ten years of rock.
‘The Trees Are Dead…’ now achieves double vinyl status for the very first time, supported by selected international shows featuring the reformed original line-up.
Meanwhile, nestling under the ‘none more legendary’ banner, there’s Newcastle ne’er-do-wells Venom – a band who not only invented a new category of extreme music (‘Black Metal’), but who continue to be a significant international force in darker circles, playing shows around the world and generally spreading the message for no-compromise heavy metal of maleficent intent.
Released in January of this year, new Venom album, ‘From The Very Depths’, is right up there with the best of their work, and April 18th sees it being released on (double) vinyl for the first time.
SPINEFARM RECORDS: ‘RECORD STORE DAY’ DETAILS:
· VENOM – ‘From The Very Depths’. 14 tracks, ltd edition double red vinyl, gatefold sleeve, lyrics, satan approved. · TURBOWOLF – ‘Solid Gold’ / ‘Rabbits Foot’. 2-track 10” single, marbled black & white vinyl, postcard. · SIKTH – ‘The Trees Are Dead & Dried Out Wait For Something Wild’. 18 tracks (including 4 bonus tracks), gatefold sleeve, lyrics, sleeve-notes, band commentary. · ATREYU – ‘So Others May Live’ / ‘When The Day is Done’. 2-track 7” single featuring new music, including current single / video ‘So Others May Live’.

We Are Hard Left Released 11th May via Future Perfect Records

The band members have been involved with punk and DIY music for nearly a century combined, including time in bands like Boyracer, Jüke, Whorl, Lunchbox and Black Tambourine, and operating the respected labels 555, Emotional Response and Slumberland Records. Initial Hard Left recording sessions in Spring 2014 led to the release of two limited edition lathe-cut singles, the Situationist-inspired "What's That Sound?" and the tough-as-nails "Safety." The band set to writing and in August 2014 gathered in the desert of Flagstaff, AZ to record. The results were two more singles ("Skinheads Home For Christmas" and a split 7" with Bad Daddies, both released in December 2014), and now this album.
We Are Hard Left is a concise and explosive punk record, packed with anthems of resistance and calls to action. These are crucial times that we live in, and Hard Left seek to inspire and invigorate. The opener "New Year" sets out the band's stall in fine fashion, urging listeners to "give up false needs" and embrace new beginnings. They follow with the blasting "Hard Left Rules OK," a call to arms if ever there was one. The album is tightly edited, each song on the heels of the previous one, exemplifying the group's eagerness to broadcast their message and energize their fans.
To that end, rousing chants and noisy interludes are interspersed throughout, cheeky but pointed references to their mod forebears and street-level terrace "politics." The message is always positive, the underlying mood is of hopefulness. "Hand In Hand" is an exhilarating call for solidarity and collective action, while "Future Perfect" imagines a world where the people were the true beneficiaries of the surplus created by progress, the perfect future we were all promised during the golden age of capitalism. Previous singles "Safety" and "Stay True" appear in re-recorded form, hard as nails and fitting in perfectly.
From the super-tough "Kicking If Off" to the Occupy-inspired "Red Flag" and the supremely uplifting (and also Situationist-inspired) closer "Imagination," this is a record that hits hard, crammed with guitars that soar and rage, group chants and raw-throated vocals. It's anthemic in the best way -- inspiring but never heavy-handed, a worthy successor to records by bands like The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, Sex Pistols and The Dils. Call it "utopian Oi" if you will, or "hard mod" or just plain punk, but don't miss out on this passionate, thrilling record.

BAST announce European tour with Pallbearer
BAST will join Pallbearer on a lengthy tour across Europe starting in Berlin on May 20, 2015. It’ll be the bands first full tour of the continent and guitarist/vocalist Craig Bryant is looking forward to it:
"Following performances at Roadburn, Incineration and Red Sun festivals, and a year after supporting them together with YOB on our home-turf, it’s with great pride that we will be playing 18 dates alongside Pallbearer on their European tour this Summer – marking our first extensive excursion across the mainland!"

BAST is a trio specialising in an unhealthy blend of Black Metal and Doom, with a flair for experimentation and emphasis on storytelling.
Their debut full-length ‘Spectres’ – originally released on Black Bow (Slomatics / Conan / Fister and others) and Burning World records in early 2014 – weaves together a hatful of heavy and a pinch of psychedelia to take you on a journey of Godless riffs and crippling atmosphere. Following its initial release, Bast embarked on two tours across the UK and Ireland with Conan and Ageless Oblivion, made festival appearances at Damnation, Into The Void (NL), Doomed Gatherings (FR) and FOAD, as well as one-off performances with Indian, Oranssi Pazuzu, Oathbreaker, Wodensthrone and Horse Latitudes, among many others.
This repress of ‘Spectres’ (on both black and gold vinyl) signals Bast as true auteurs of their vision, spreading it without compromise and proving that there’s still life aplenty in the UK heavy music scene.

Lich King Singer Departs Band, New Track Released & Audition Process For Replacement Vocalist Begins Immediately
On 1st April 2015 Massachusetts Thrashers Lich King published a new track entitled 'I Quit'. It was naturally received as an April Fools joke by their fans and media alike. However on the 2nd April Lich King singer Tom Martin made an announcement that he would in fact be relieving himself of vocal duties for the band from that point onward. Please find Tom's entire statement regarding his departure from Lich King below. Lich King are currently scouring the globe for a replacement singer and are pushing forward with plans to release a new full length album in 2015.
Auditions for a new vocalist are currently underway and the band have released the following campaign welcoming applicants to take five shared instrumental Lich King songs complete with lyric sheets from tiny.cc/lkvocals. Applicants should then record their vocals over the tracks and email their audition directly to Andy@evileyeindustries.com.
Tom Martin's Statement
So yesterday we put up an announcement in the form of a song, in which I declared I was quitting Lich King, and... April Fools! It was the truth.
These are my reasons for leaving. My reasons are my own, and don’t at all reflect on the attitudes or opinions of the other guys.
Reason #1: Live shows were never my thing. I have bad hearing so at a metal show when you hear the music, almost all I hear is deafening jangled noise.
Reason #2: Bars are the worst. On tour, you’re hanging around in a venue for seven to eight hours every night, and usually it’s a bar. I have no idea how someone sits in a bar for that long and doesn’t want to open their wrist with a blender.
Reason #3: I’m a homebody. I like sitting at home, surrounded by my comfort zone, making stuff. This isn’t to say I didn’t enjoy touring with Lich King, because largely, I did. I love those guys and discovered I love traveling... but I stopped having a good time when we pulled into the venue every night. I’d dread shows, and during them I’d sit on the bus and fantasize about being home with my stuff.
Reason #4: [redacted]
Reason #5: This is the big one: Money. There’s not much. Thrash bands have day jobs, and I’m not just talking about the small guys. I’d be willing to bet that just about everyone outside of the big four aren’t living off their music alone. In the song, when I mentioned “now a good show means some pizza and 9 bucks,” I wasn’t exaggerating. $9 and food are what I get for devoting my evening to what is considered a good show by our standards.
Some people tell me to be happy to have even that, because most bands don’t, and to suck it up and be professional about it. All I can say is that those people must enjoy the gig more than I do, and good for them, I’m glad... but “professional” is a poor choice of words for metal bands. If you’re in a band but it’s not your primary source of income, it’s not your profession, it’s your hobby... and your hobby shouldn’t eat up two months of your life when you could be hammering at your profession.
Lich King is a hobby that got away from me and started lumbering under its own will, demanding more and more of my time for minimal rewards outside of seeing people enjoy what we made. That’s fine, I’m going to let that beast stomp off and maybe in the future there’ll be lucrative tours or big shows I can jump onto. Maybe it’ll all be worthwhile in the future. Till then, I’m going back to just doing art and giving Lich King the amount of time a hobby deserves.
When Ol Drake left EVILE, he said “I've reached a point where I want... a house, a steady and definite income and everything in between, and in regard to my personal preferences, a touring band's income and uncertainties, in the state that I feel they would continue to be in, has become incompatible with how I feel and what I want/need.” That's pretty much it.
So... thanks to anyone that ever came out to a show, bought some merch and said they had a good time, because you helped me when I needed it.
If you liked I QUIT, you can get it here
As for now, I solemnly pronounce thrash metal dead.
Your pal
-Tom

Some new stars in the making are set to play the festival for the first time including Leeds’ Polo, Novella plus Hyde & Beast who have recently been playing shows with James Bay. Full list of new additions below.
Dean Freeman, Long Division Founder:
"I love the second wave of announcements for Long Division. This year, with the first, we really pushed things for our fifth festival. But it's not until the second that it really takes shape and it's possible to really sense the character of the weekend. We've got a great collection of upcoming bands from across Yorkshire that have never played the festival before and really validate our support of DIY culture. We've got the best Wakefieldian bands. We've got personal heroes of ours, like Future Of The Left and Sweet Baboo. But most of all, they collectively represent five years of making stuff happen in Wakefield. Getting people to travel here and experience a weird and wonderful city. I think we have our best line-uptwitte ever, we have our best collection of venues and I absolutely guarantee we will have the most perfect weather. It's a no-brainer."
Long Division have also announced that they will be collaborating with much loved pop up concert series Sofar Sounds, for a special evening of live music, curated and hosted by Long Division founder, Dean Freeman. There will be performances from artists who have performed at Long Division during its five-year history including some very special guests. As with all Sofar events, the line up and Leeds city location of the show will be kept a secret and revealed to the lucky attendees the day before the show. THE ROCKET DOLLS - Hard Rock trio announce tour dates in May 2015
Summer 2014 saw the release of THE ROCKET DOLLS' groove-laden album 'Eyes', gaining critical acclaim, as well as serving as a welcome return since vocalist Nikki Smash's health issues. In between writing new material and promoting the album, THE ROCKET DOLLS have been working hard to book in some tour dates, which they are pleased to announce have been confirmed. Come catch the band's signature raging riffs, growled vocals and an undeniable knack for huge, heavy, hooks on the following dates:
May 02 The Ivy Leaf, Sheerness May 12 Fuel, Cardiff May 15 Finns, Weymouth May 16 The Anvil, Bournemouth May 18 The Firehouse, Southampton May 19 Bar 42, Worthing May 22 The Black Dog, Crawley May 23 The Rafters, Maidstone Jun 06 The Dublin Castle, London

ABOUT THE ROCKET DOLLS
Mixing muscular metal riffage with grunge grit, the ’Dolls take their sonic cues from the likes of Alice In Chains, Helmet and Silverchair, as well as sharing Nirvana’s power trio dynamics. Vocalist and guitarist Nikki Smash is well qualified to lead the charge of fist-pumping rock with lashings of fighting spirit, having overcome more obstacles in the making of this debut than many battle-scarred rock veterans will have faced down by the closing pages of their memoirs. The past three years have seen Nikki undergo two operations for osteoarthritis and contract the e-coli virus while recuperating in hospital, only to then be hit with pneumonia. A born fighter, he has kept writing throughout. He recently sought to regain his strength by entering the boxing ring, yet he still finds fire and aggression to spare when delivering ferocious vocals to numbers like ‘Can’t Keep Him Down’ - an indestructible monster of a track that could well be his theme song.
Backing Nikki up is powerhouse drummer and long-standing partner in crime, Ben Knopfler. Son of a guitarist, Ben has music in his blood, but rather than following in his dad’s melodic footsteps he gravitated to the drums. Ben gives The Rocket Dolls their furious, fearsomely tight, foundations. Bassist Tommy K rounds out the rhythm section and complements his bandmates’ grounding in grunge by bringing his love of Guns ‘n’ Roses, Def Leppard and 80s metal to the table. He describes hearing Maiden’s ‘No Prayer For The Dying’ at the age of five as a defining moment and credits Steve Harris with inspiring him to pick up the bass and adopt his trademark fingerpicking technique.
The culmination of many months work, ‘Eyes’ now combines this talented trio’s diverse experiences and influences in defiant and spectacular style. Producer Mark Roberts excels at giving the 11 tracks a high-end punch and power, but are careful to ensure the polish doesn’t come at the expense of the authentic grit and raw edges which are essential elements of The Rocket Dolls’ sound.
The official video for the title track of the album has already made a major impact on the viewers of Scuzz TV, who voted it straight to #8 in the channel's 'New Videos Chart', with the video climbing to #4 a week later. Watch 'Eyes':
BABYMETAL TO FINALLY RELEASE SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM IN UK VIA EARMUSIC
BABYMETAL are one of the most powerful musical phenomena in the world today and they are taking the world by storm. Formed in Japan, the three girls known as SU-METAL, YUIMETAL and MOAMETAL began their mission to unify the world through Heavy Metal in 2010. Backed and supported by some of the finest metal musicians their native land has to offer and grown from the seeds sown by band overseer KOBAMETAL, their self-titled debut album will finally be released in the UK on June 1st, 2015 on earMUSIC.
BABYMETAL is not just an invigorating introduction to its creator’s refined conceptual world and glorious tunes; it is also a fearsome statement of intent that takes the pop and metal rulebooks and sets them ablaze amid a whirlwind of euphoria and energy. The self-titled album is a dazzling and exhilarating explosion of thunderous modern metal and irresistible, infectious kawaii pop melodies. The infectious anthems range from the crunk-ified, party thrash of ‘line!’ to the widescreen power metal fury of ‘Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!’.
The album will be released as 1CD Standard Edition as well as a Limited CD+DVD Edition. Both versions include two bonus tracks: ‘Gimme Chocolate!!’ from their infamous, sold-out performance at the O2 Academy Brixton in London, and ‘Road of Resistance’ including the mighty guitar force of Herman Li and Sam Totman of Dragonforce. The DVD includes all of the band’s video clips. BABYMETAL’s success in their native country Japan led to Top 10 singles in the Oricon chart in Japan, performances at several major festivals in Japan, including Summer Sonic 2013 and two consecutive sold out nights at Tokyo’s legendary Budokan venue in March 2014, in front of 20,000 people.
Eventually, BABYMETAL’s reputation had crossed the globe and was beginning to make waves in Europe and America too. With video clips with over 25 million views, the band became a sudden and huge internet phenomenon, leaving pop and metal fans around the world in no doubt about the magic and might of this new musical force. BABYMETAL made their first world tour, traversing continents to perform at the celebrated Sonisphere festival in Knebworth, England (and won over a vast field of 65,000 diehard metalheads in the process), were invited by pop icon Lady Gaga to support her on her prestigious ArtRave: The Artpop Ball tour in the US, and played various sold out shows throughout Europe and in New York.
With the public approval of such rock icons as Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett and Guns N’ Roses legend Slash who sang the band’s praises during a live radio interview, BABYMETAL entered 2015 as the hottest new band on planet Earth.
BABYMETAL will become one of the biggest acts of the 21st century. Irresistible, unstoppable and destined for greatness, BABYMETAL are metal’s saviours.

Founded in the Finnish capital some 25 years ago, THE 69 EYES spawned a total of ten full- length records and an additional selection of live, best-of and re-mastered albums. With the release of their tenth and most current studio encounter »X« in 2012, vocalist and frontman Jyrki69 observes the bands’ resemblance with one certain masked superhero: “I just saw “The Dark Knight Rises” and realized that THE 69 EYES is like Batman: we always rise and return - our only mission being to save Gotham City and serve its people. Everybody else is gone, nobody does it better & someone's got to do it. So, sunglasses on and here we go again: the Helsinki Vampires are BACK!”
Looking back on such a vast legacy, THE 69 EYES have always managed to stay alive as a band, reinventing their distinct blend of Goth’n’Roll and keeping the same line-up ever since 1992, when Jussi69 replaced original drummer Lotto. The second peak of the Goth era in the late 90s/early 2000s saw the five-piece with some of its most acclaimed longplayers, »Wasting The Dawn« (1999), »Blessed Be« (2000) and »Paris Kills« (2002).
Entering 2015, THE 69 EYES just announced the release of »The Best Of Helsinki Vampires«, a full best-of collection, spanning a quarter of a century of band history. From the early days of fame with »Wrap Up You Troubles In Dreams« (1997), to the stardom of the latter years with »Devils« (2004) and »Back In Blood« (2009), »The Best Of Helsinki Vampires« features 28 tracks and will be out on April 10, 2015 via Nuclear Blast.
