90's Industrial Act Circle Of Dust Releases First New Track in Nearly 20 Years & Announces Plans for Remastered Re-Releases & Brand New LP

Listen to “Contagion” exclusively on Loudwire

Detroit, MI - For nearly two decades CIRCLE OF DUST has inspired fans and fellow artists of the industrial music scene. Founded by Klayton - who is most well-known for his project Celldweller and owning the independent record label FiXT - CIRCLE OF DUST began his experimentation with melding sci-fi inspired industrial and electronic-rock, a sound that he has since become known for mastering. It is with great excitement that CIRCLE OF DUST has teamed up with Loudwire for the exclusive premiere of his new track “Contagion,” the first piece of new music to be released in nearly 20 years.

The debut of “Contagion” comes with the news that CIRCLE OF DUST will be re-releasing remastered versions of all five previously released albums, each featuring bonus material, new tracks, and more. This sequence of releases will all happen in 2016, capping off with a completely brand new CIRCLE OF DUST album, to be released in December of this year.

The first re-issue is of the self-titled debut album, ‘Circle Of Dust,’ which will be out on March 4, 2016 via FiXT. Originally released in 1992, the entire album was created using a Mac Classic with 1mb of system RAM and a 40mb hard drive along with an Ensoniq EPS 16+ mono sampler. The album has been meticulously remastered with modern sonic precision, improving upon the sound of the original tracks. Additionally, the album features nearly an hour of bonus material including a rare acoustic version of "Onenemy," raw 4-track cassette demos, and a series of unreleased songs, demos and b-sides simply titled - "Dust." Pre-Orders for the self-titled re-release are available now via iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, and the FiXT web store.

About CIRCLE OF DUST:

Circle of Dust, the 90s industrial / electronic-rock project created by visionary artist/producer Klayton, marked the beginning of the musical career of the man who later went on to create independent success as Celldweller, as well as forming his own label - FIXT. Along with four full-length Circle of Dust albums in the 90s (Circle of Dust, Brainchild, Metamorphosis, Disengage), Klayton created a side-project under the name Argyle Park, which featured a vast collection of guest collaborators, including Tommy Victor of Prong, J.G. Thirlwell of Foetus and Mark Salomon (Stavesacre/Crucified).

Locked away collecting "dust" for 20+ years, the rights to the Circle of Dust & Argyle Park albums were unavailable to Klayton as the original labels they were signed to shut down in the mid-90s. After 2 decades of pursuing a deal to regain ownership of the albums, Klayton was finally able to reclaim the rights in 2015.

As Klayton began planning the remastering and re-release of the original albums, a new idea began to grow. He decided to not only re-release each album, but to fully resurrect the project and create a new full-length Circle of Dust album, to be released December 2016, nearly 20 years after the last Circle of Dust release.

Not only are all the re-releases being remastered, but each will include demos, unreleased bonus tracks, acoustic/alternate versions of tracks as well as some new remixes, with each album being released every 8 weeks, starting with the Self-Titled on March 4th, 2016.

Mortiis issues Statement on return of The Mask

OSLO - Mortiis has issued a statement regarding his infamous mask, which made its return in a short video clip released earlier this week.

"For years I've been stubbornly telling everyone who wanted me to revive the mask to get f**ked, more or less.

The idea of the mask just rotted away for me, and for a long time it was just this vile thing that I couldn´t relate to. It was someone else, and everyone wanted me to go back to being someone else, so how do you think I'd react to that?

I needed to go full circle. I suppose I had this sort of nihilistic view of the mask for a long time. It just lost all meaning to me. So I eventually worked my way through the disillusionment, hate, indifference and finally back into the reincarnated goodwill towards it.

The return of the mask - at least for it to be part of the equation again - had to happen sooner or later. I guess I just needed to put a lot of stuff in its right place in my mind before I was ready to consider putting it back on. Let's face it, though, I'm a sucker for visual sh*t, so obviously the mask was bound to come back at some point. I just wasn't ready to admit it to myself until now, and certainly not to some entitled ass hat yelling that he wants it back."

Mortiis will be touring the UK in May:
