Drowning Pool also just announced a string of headlining tour dates. Audiotopsy and Violent New Breed are serving as support.
Drowning Pool released Hellelujah on February 5, 2016 via Entertainment One Music (eOne). The band tapped renowned artist Brian Mercer (CHRIS CORNELL, LAMB OF GOD, HIGH ON FIRE) to design the cover art. Hellelujah is the follow up to Resilience, released in 2013. This time the band worked with producer Jason Suecof (AUGUST BURNS RED, DEICIDE, DEATH ANGEL) at the helm.
Drowning Pool have beaten the darkness and now they celebrate life on life’s terms. The core trio of C.J. Pierce (guitar), Stevie Benton (bass) and Mike Luce (drums) mine hardship, struggle and disappointment to emerge victorious each time, crafting empowering hard rock anthems. Drowning Pool songs conjure emotions that deeply connect with those who persevere against the odds and sacrifice to survive, and their music transcends boundaries of race, class and lifestyle as well, resonating with people from all walks of life who look to music to get them through life’s challenges.
Jasen Moreno’s powerful vocals enabled him to quickly master Drowning Pool’s dense catalog when he became the band’s frontman in 2012. From his reverent delivery of the late Dave Williams mosh-pit ready lyrics in the ubiquitous signature hit "Bodies” to his powerful take on Top 5 Active Rock hits like “Step Up” from Desensitized (2004), “37 Stitches” from Full Circle (2007), and “Feel Like I Do” (Drowning Pool, 2010).
German Electronic-Rock Duo BULLET HEIGHT Releases “Bastion” Lyric Video
Berlin-based electronic-rock duo BULLET HEIGHT, featuring Sammi Doll of IAMX and Jon Courtney of Pure Reason Revolution have launched a lyric video for their addictive new single, "Bastion." Directed by Valquire Veljkovic, the video can be seen here:
BULLET HEIGHT offered the following insight on the lyric video: "Working with Valquire Veljkovic was great. He was inspired by different glass shards in front of the lens to create live effects - He had so many ideas, it was brilliant to work with someone who understood the importance of introducing us visually for the first time as a new band. He really grabbed the right tone and vision while keeping the distinction between lyric and music video."
The single, "Bastion" is currently available digitally on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify, via Superball Music.
On the formation of the group, John previously commented: "I left London, moved to Berlin, rented a dirt-cheap room in an old DDR building & started battering out the music that would go on to become Bullet Height. I wanted to create something darker & heavier than ever before – I’d always written & produced in the past under no creative constraint & that has continued with this new band. From the first vocal session with Sammi I knew we were onto something…Superball caught wind of things…now here we are!"
Sammi added: "Jon and I met through producer Tom Bellamy at a dirty rock bar in Berlin on Halloween. He was looking for someone to collaborate on his new music, we met up a few days later and it became clear that this would turn into something much bigger than expected. It was exactly the release I needed at the time and became a bit of personal therapy."
