„AMPHI IS COMING HOME!“ - AMPHI FESTIVAL RETURNS TO TANZBRUNNEN!
Dear Amphi Fans,
it is the news that spreads like wildfire and it is official:
„AMPHI IS COMING HOME!“ THE AMPHI FESTIVAL RETURNS TO TANZBRUNNEN!
The Tanzbrunnen Cologne, which had gotten close to our hearts and characterized the Amphi Festival sustainably from 2006 till 2014 will be available again in 2016. „Home is where the heart is“, as the folks say. Therefore we grab the opportunity to return to the place we were forced to leave behind after 2014 due to organisational restrictions, that once held us from continuing the way you all came to love.
With coziness and summer open air feeling for example the fountain-lounge will be back, as well as the popular beachclub along with pure holiday feeling. Alongside the open air stage at Tanzbrunnen and the indoor stage at Theater am Tanzbrunnen we prepared another neat surprise:
NEW: ORBIT STAGE AT MS RHEINENERGIE + SECOND PARTY FLOOR
Last year´s Orbit Stage remains faithful to its name as it finds a new home in 2016, rocking the MS RHEINENERGIE. Only for the Amphi Festival, Europes unique event-catamaran will land and stay at the boarding bridge in Cologne-Deutz, just 200 meters from the Tanzbrunnen. During the whole weekend you can see numerous live-shows there, relax on the ship’s lavish sun-deck with a large number of seats or dance through the night, since we come to offer an alternative second floor, in addition to the regular after-show party at the Theater. High-class setting meets festivals pleasures! Something you will look forward to...
At this point we would like to sincerely thank the management of the Lanxess arena around CEO Stefan Löcher for sharing our vision of an innovative Amphi Festival in 2015 and for their passionate work and assistance. In that respect we look forward to a possible future collaboration on other projects.
EARLY SEASON TICKETS SOLD OUT / DAY TICKETS ALSO AVAILABLE NOW
From 2010 till 2014 Amphi Festival at Tanzbrunnen has been sold out every year. For 2016 the number of available tickets will be strictly limited again. Therefore the contingent of early season tickets is sold out! However we are pleased to announce the venue change affecting the price for regular weekend tickets as well, which come without further price increase – on sale now.
We also now offer day tickets for Saturday and Sunday! The performing artists of each day are listed in the ticket description at the shop and in the programme section of our website www.amphi-festival.de.
As usual original tickets are exclusively available at the Amphi Shop www.amphi-shop.de. Amphi Festival tickets can also be purchased on all CTS/EVENTIM and TICKETMASTER box-offices as well as online at www.eventim.de, www.oeticket.com, www.ticketcorner.ch, www.eventim.nl and via PRINT@HOME. AVATAR ANNOUNCE NEW CONCEPT ALBUM & REVEAL NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR 'FOR THE SWARM'
AVATAR have announced a brand new concept album titled 'Feathers & Flesh' to be released on Friday, May 13th 2016 via Another Century in Europe and Entertainment One (eOne) in North America and Canada.
The new release will be the band's highly anticipated follow up to 'Hail The Apocalypse' released in 2014. The aim is set higher, further and deeper than ever before for AVATAR. Not only is this concept album their most extensive work to date, showing the widest range of any of their albums, it also contains a story too extensive for any booklet, so they made a book. A fully illustrated 60 page, 109 verse poem hardcover book. The physical album pre order, book, and exclusive merchandise will be available directly from the band March 17th. Click HERE for more info.
The band has revealed a music video for the track 'For The Swarm' which can be seen exclusively on the band's website AVATARMETAL.COM
Directed by longtime collaborator and director Johan Carlén, the video pegs itself firmly into the upper echelon of stunning visual masterpieces the band has grown accustomed to producing.
AVATAR continues to raise the bar for what bands are doing visually in the current state of hard rock and metal. 'For The Swarm' is also available as an iTunes instant gratification track, meaning fans who pre order the album today will get the track as an instant download. Feathers & Flesh was recorded in Germany, Finland and Sweden in December 2015 with producer extraordinaire Sylvia Massy (System of a Down, Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers).
“Avatar is an amazing band” said Massy, adding, “The singer has the wild energy and charisma I love, and the players are relentless. The album we’re making is an epic. Each song powerfully stands on it’s own, but is only a piece of a larger story. This album is the project I’ve been dreaming about for years!”
The music is as always, rooted in the extreme, with plenty of melodic sensibility and a lust for experimentation. There is a love for intense double bass drumming, riffing and shredding of timeless dimensions alongside rough edges, slow grooves and epic storytelling for the ages. The idea is that as the band digs deeper, the fists will be held up higher. The end result is a modern metal album with all the ruthlessness and power one could ask for handled with a loving songwriter’s hand, inspired by The Beatles and Queen.
'Feathers & Flesh' track listing:
01. Regret 02. House of Eternal Hunt 03. The Eagle has Landed 04. New Land 05. Tooth, Beak & Claw 06. For The Swarm 07. Fiddler's Farewell 08. One More Hill 09. Black Waters 10. Night Never Ending 11. Pray the Sun Away 12. When The Snow Lies Red 13. Raven Wine 14. Sky Burial
Drum&Bass Rockers THE QEMISTS Premiere New Track "Warrior Sound" with CraveOnline
Following their recent signing announcement to FiXT for the North American release of their new record, ‘Warrior Sound,’ Brighton-based quintet THE QEMISTS have teamed up with CraveOnline to premiere the title-track off their new album. Producing a diverse, yet alluring sound, THE QEMISTS are drum and bass aficionados who believe their hurtling breakbeats sound best under big muscular metallic guitar riffs. The forthcoming album‘Warrior Sound’ will be out on March 4, 2016, and the title-track, “Warrior Sound” can be heard HERE.
THE QEMISTS explain, “Warrior Sound represents a seminal shift for us into a full five piece band and we feel it demonstrates our tapping into a new-found raw energy, in a way that makes it different to any other Qemists album. That said, we revere where we've come from with great respect. We owe it to the roots that have given us the strength to grow.”
The group’s fearless genre-mashing has already garnered them a sizable following across the globe, scoring a previous number one album in Japan and playing to audiences of over half a million people in Poland. The first single, “Run You” was featured in the worldwide trailer for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s film Terminator Genisys, and has been playlisted by UK’s Team Rock, Kerrang! Radio, Scuzz and more, reaching #6 on the Kerrang! Rock chart.
This March, The Qemists will join Enter Shikari on a European tour, and have landed a main support slot on Crossfaith’s upcoming UK tour. Pre-Orders for 'Warrior Sound' are available now via iTunes and the FiXT web store.
New Dead Hormones video "If I Don't Make It Home"
Hull UK's finest alt-rock exports Dead Hormones released their brand spankin' new EP, 'Nothing, Nothing.. Then Something' on February 19 via Warren Records and we're pleased to be giving you the intense new video for 'If I Don't Make It Home' today - check it out below.
Part snotty, spiky punk and part sleazy garage rock, there are no frills on this lot, just big choruses and staccato messy guitar solos.
The band comment on the new EP's development: "Most of the songs on the release are only a couple of months old and were all written within a few weeks of each other. As soon as we wrote these songs we were just really eager to record them. We believe the overall sound of ‘Nothing, Nothing..’ is a big step in the right direction for us, it almost feels like we’ve revamped our style and rediscovered what we really want our music to be."
Epoch Era - "Running Still"
Epoch Era was formed in the summer of 2013 in North Haven, CT. Bands like AFI, Avenged Sevenfold, and Touché Amore inspired the four members and childhood friends to begin a journey in music together. Until July of 2014, Epoch Era was making its way around the Connecticut music scene with great vigor and tenacity. From Rumble at the Room, Gorilla Music’s Battle of the Bands, opening for Dying Fetus, and playing various local shows, the band did not allot any down time in their schedule. Epoch Era was featured in PopVulture Magazine, Alternative Control Magazine, Quinnipiac Radio, and PPRN Radio during this time as well. Following the band’s first release “Fatal Intervention”, Epoch Era spent many hours in the studio working on a full length album.
The recording process was unexpectedly brought to a halt when the band’s drummer, John Liquori, was struck and killed by a drunk driver in July of 2014.
After many months of recovery, the three remaining members, Andrew Proto, Vinny Sacco, and Angelo Graziano began producing the Black Clouds Above EP with guitarist Angelo drumming in position of John. The remaining three also produced “Imperfect Perfection”, their first music video, as a tribute to their lost drummer and friend. Four months later, the band released their second EP “Running Still” containing 5 new original tracks.

HAEMOPHAGUS: Italian Deathgrinders Sign To Selfmadegod Records For Release Of Third Album
Selfmadegod Records is proud to announce the signing of Italian death metal/grindcore act HAEMOPHAGUS, for the release the band's third full-length Stream Of Shadows in the Summer months of 2016.
Stream Of Shadows was recorded, engineered and mixed in Palermo by Silvio "Spadino" Punzo, a longtime friend of HAEMOPHAGUS, at Tone Deaf Studios, September 2015. Dan Randall will handle the mastering at Mammoth Sound in Santa Cruz, California, and the band has again commissioned Marco Failla to draw the cover artwork, having worked with the artist previously. Songwriting and lyrically, Stream Of Shadows takes a step towards weirder, faster and more lunatic structures than on their prior releases. With themes ranging from the Buddha's spiritual resistance against demons, people trapped inside flippers and dystopian tales of rebellion and mind expansion, the band is trying to bring its brand of death metal, grindcore and thrash to a different level of musical oddity.
Additional details and a release date for Stream Of Shadows will be announce upon completion of the album in the weeks ahead.
HAEMOPHAGUS comes from Palermo, Sicily, and has been in existence since 2004, playing horror-obsessed death/grind metal influenced by the likes of early Carcass, Repulsion, Autopsy, Terrorizer and so on. The band two prior full-length albums and many vinyl-only splits with bands like Agathocles, Spiral, Grind Crusher, Bonesaw, Repuked, Subjugation, Mausoleum, and more. The members of HAEMOPHAGUS also currently/previously hail from other acts like Assumption, Gravesite, Morbo, Undead Creep, Repulsione, and more.
