Chicago Hardcore Band Drowning Sign w/ Fast Break! Records

Chicago, IL - Chicago beatdown band Drowning has inked a deal with the eastern PA hardcore label Fast Break! Records. The group will release their debut full-length album Egotrip on 2/26, but you can stream the first single "Lord of War" now via Lambgoat. The track features rapper (and fellow south side Chicago native) MoeCyrus.

"'Lord Of War' was written about the real life situation of trying to better yourself while having to handle your business," says vocalist Bryan Gantz. "Everyone has history and sometimes you are where you come from and rep what you rep. Growing up in Chicago you learn a lot from the streets. Once you commit to a lifestyle there is no going back or backing down. You have to stand up for what you believe in through and through. When the 'Lord Of War' calls he calls with no question."

The theme of guest vocalists continues throughout the album with contributions from Matt Honeycutt (Kublai Khan), John Hoffman (Weekend Nachos), Rob Watson (Lionheart) and Baer Coon the Ewokk. "This is without a doubt the realest album we could have put together," says bassist Ryan Kramarz. "We went into the project with open minds and created something that encapsulates each member, our city, and the current state of things. This is Chicago Beatdown. This is Drowning."

Groezrock announce new acts

The almighty Face to Face recently announced their new album “Protection”, the band’s first since 2013’s “Three Chords And A Half Truth”. Listen to their first song "Double Crossed" here:



“Protection” will be out March 4th via Fat Wreck Chords and if you ask them nicely, they will play some of their new songs at GROEZROCK.

As far as we know Canada’s punk legends SNFU are not working on a new album, but Mr. Chi Pig & co will grace us with their attendance anyway. Get ready to tear it up with them!

Still feel like you will not have had enough of a workout after those shows? Then get ready for some violent hardcore slamdancing to the tunes of Terror. And to those of Walls Of Jericho, who will show up at GROEZROCK with a new album tucked firmly under their arms.

Hardcore bruisers Broken Teeth are out to cause as much blunt force trauma as possible. And so is Northlane. They are just a bit more sneaky about it. All sweet and melodic one moment, and pummel your ass the next.

DEATHCORE heroes Despised Icon have recently come back from the dead and are aching to play a couple of select dates. And yes, you guessed it. GROEZROCK is one of those dates where they will be slinging breakdown your way.

Sacramento, CA) Esque Records, a label owned by A Lot Like Birds vocalist Kurt Travis, recently signed singer/songwriter Paul Travis. Kurt was so inspired by Paul's music that he decided to write some indie-folk songs of his own for a split EP that you can hear in it's entirety at AbsolutePunk.net. The record will be released on Feb. 1st, but pre-orders are available here.

“When I first heard Paul Travis, I was blown away by his talent to create such an intense feeling through his recordings and was even more impressed to learn that he produced the songs as well," says Kurt. "His soft, etherial, natural vibrato sounding vocals remind me of a younger Cat Stevens along with lyrics reminiscent of Elliott Smith. I signed Paul and wanted to immediately showcase his beautiful songs, to gain some recognition before his full length release later in 2016. The product of this idea is the split ep that we recorded together! I can’t wait to see what’s next for us in the future."

The EP will be available digitally and on cassette (with a one-time digital download). Paul Travis' debut full-length will be out later this spring on Esque Records.

Artery Launches Full-Service Studio, "Gold Standard Sounds"

Blood Of The Martyrs Releases Music Video for New Single

Gehennah - "Too Loud to Live, Too Drunk to Die" Release: 12 February 2016 via Metal Blade Records

Gehennah is back with their fourth album (and Metal Blade Records full-length debut), Too Loud to Live, Too Drunk to Die! Set to be released on February 12th, 2016, this record will be the band's first full-length since 1997´s Decibel Rebel.

Gehennah was formed in 1992, and soon after, the band made their mark on the scene with their three now-classic albums: Hardrocker (1995), King of the Sidewalk (1996), and Decibel Rebel (1997). Influenced by Venom, Bathory, and Motörhead, the quartet earned a loyal following for their thrashy, black 'n roll during the 90s; since then, they have released various 7" singles, with fans begging for more.

Finally in early 2015, Gehennah released the extended EP Metal Police via Metal Blade Records, a comeback that gained praise from old and new supporters. Now, the band has returned again with their first full-length offering in nearly 20 years, Too Loud to Live, Too Drunk to Die. Recorded at Studio Cobra in Stockholm, Sweden and produced by Martin Eherencrona, Too Loud to Live, Too Drunk to Die proves to be worth the wait, featuring 13 tracks brimming with drinking anthems, anti-establishment themes, and dirty, raw street-attitude.

AntropomorphiA - "Necromantic Love Songs" Release: 12 February 2016 via Metal Blade Records

Musically fueled by bands that laid the foundation of various metal sub-genres (such as Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Possessed, Death, Autopsy and Venom) AntropomorphiA's inception lies in the fall of 1990 in Tilburg (Netherlands). The band was formed by four individuals that shared a close friendship and passion in honest metal music. The first years of sending out rehearsal tapes and performing shows in local bars culminated into 1992's Bowel Mutilation demo, which became a highly sought-after release in the underground scene. Soon after, a record deal was offered by Swiss label Blackened Recordings. In 1993, the cult classic Necromantic Love Songs MCD was put on the market.

In the years of turmoil that followed, the band released 1995's I Have My Way! demo, but got consumed by other musical projects in the flourishing Netherlands metal scene at the time. Consequently, AntropomorphiA went on hiatus in 1999 - but still wrote and recorded material over the years, until they re-grouped officially in 2009. The resulting effort was 2012's Evangelivm Nekromantia - their Metal Blade Records debut! Following the success of the album (and subsequent ban in Germany for their violence and occultism), Rites ov Perversion was released in 2014 to critical acclaim once again.

Now, the Dutch death metallers have decided to re-visit their past, with a re-issue of their first EP and demo, entitled Necromantic Love Songs."'Necromantic Love Songs' has been a sonic sepulchral withering that keeps echoing through the years, and although it has been 20+ years since we recorded it, till this day people keep asking when we are going to revisit this release," singer/guitarist Ferry Damen comments. "When Metal Blade gave us the opportunity to let these restless cadavers rise from their burial chamber - and although a lot of stuff got lost or damaged in those years - we checked our vaults and got out everything we could use to make it a worthy re-issue!"

Re-mastered by Tore Stjerna at Necromorbus Studio for the most eerie listening experience possible, Necromantic Love Songs is strictly limited and numbered to 666 LPs (333 LPs in 2 versions) and 1000 CDs. For fans that never had the chance to collect the original Bowel Mutilation demo or Necromantic Love Songs MCD, this is a must-have re-issue by one of the Netherlands' finest!

SANGUINE mark the release of second album ‘Black Sheep’ with spectacular sci-fi video for new track ‘Save Me’

‘Black Sheep’, the second album from ferocious female-fronted metal mob Sanguine, gets a Europe-wide release today through Odyssey Music. To mark its arrival, the Exeter alt. metallers have dropped another new video for ‘Save Me’; the third song to be taken from ‘Black Sheep’. The clip, which premiered exclusively at MetalTalk.net on Wednesday, is easily their most ambitious video to date, and was created in collaboration with fast-rising young Australian director Tyson Wade Johnston, who has recently joined Warner Studios in Hollywood.

Johnston became the subject of a massive movie industry buzz after releasing his independent sci-fi short ‘Lunar’ online, leading Creative Artists Agency to sign him up just a week later. Set in a strict, robot-patrolled Los Angeles in 2057, ‘Lunar’ centres on a man who is arrested after trying to steal bread for his family, and is sent to a penal colony on the moon. Sanguine bonded with Johnston when they played in L.A, and fruit of their alliance is the ‘Save Me’ video, which repurposes scenes from ‘Lunar’, and splices them together with the band’s own footage, presenting a new spin on the director’s storyline and Sanguine’s song.

Guitarist Nick Magee says “we saw Tyson’s work and were blown away. We sent him an email to see if he would consider letting us collaborate using his footage - he liked what we were doing so let us. It's freaking awesome that he let us do that - artist to artist I think I respect that more than anything.

In a total spooky co-incidence our manager phoned that week and said we had been offered a show in Los Angeles. The weirdest thing is, before that week, Sanguine had nothing to do with Los Angeles at all. Suddenly we were playing a show there and collaborating with Hollywood Directors! We met Tyson in a seedy titty bar, because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Ron Jeremy happened to be there, so our first face-to-face meeting, we were sat a couple meters from Ron, watching naked girls pick things up with their breasts and talking about the new music video. That was the first day we landed in L.A!”.

‘Black Sheep’ is out now, and available as a CD and download from all the usual outlets. Recorded at In Flames’ Gothenburg studios, and featuring some cameos and co-writes from IF guitarist Jesper Stromblad, it’s a record that’s both highly distinctive and dizzyingly eclectic. With frontwoman Tarin’s instantly recognisable banshee-howl-to-angelic-harmony vocal range drawing it all together, the album dips into a dazzling array of influences to be by turns both brutal and beautiful. Nick comments, “this album has been a real journey. It started back in 2012 when we started cutting demo's in Gothenburg. Since then the album has taken us to Berlin, Los Angeles, Ibiza, Las Vegas and Stockholm. We can't believe how well it's gone in a lot of ways - the music industry is tough at the moment so we are lucky to have been given the opportunity to do so many different things. This album has something for everyone I think. Each song has a different energy”.

INCITE Releases New Track 'Stagnant', Announces New Album Details + European Tour

Outspoken, opinionated and heavy beyond belief - politically-driven heavy metal purveyors INCITE has risen up the ranks, creating a name for themselves and proving to be a force to be reckoned with. On April 22, 2016, the wait will be over - INCITE will release their new album Oppression via Minus Head Records. Produced by Steve Evetts (Dillinger Escape Plan, Suicide Silence, Every Time I Die) at Omen Room Studios in Garden Grove, CA during the fall of 2015, Oppression promises to deliver a level of ferocity, groove, and darkened melody unlike ever before. The album will feature guest vocals from Connor Garrity of All Hail the Yeti and Jose Mangin of Sirius XM Liquid Metal.

Artery Recordings Sign She Must Burn & release music video for "POSSESSED"

London, England - Artery Recordings has announced the signing of symphonic brutes She Must Burn. The London quintet released their self-titled debut EP today as well as a music video for the first single "Possessed":

BOY JUMPS SHIP REVEAL DEBUT ALBUM DETAILS

British four piece BOY JUMPS SHIP have revealed the details of their debut album. Entitled ‘Wake Up’, the band’s first full-length will be released via AMAZING RECORD CO on April 22nd.

Hailing from the North-East of England, BOY JUMPS SHIP have gained a reputation for their energetic, passionate and exuberant live performances up and down the country and around Europe. Touring with the likes of Only Rivals, Young Guns, Arcane Roots and We Are The Ocean to name a few, as well as the UK leg of the 2015 VANS WARPED TOUR, audiences found themselves instantly connecting with their unavoidably addictive, massive melodic choruses and heavy-hitting riffs.

With the aid of a generous grant from the PRS FOR MUSIC FOUNDATION’s Momentum Award, the band headed down to The Premises studio in Hoxton, London, working with producer Larry Hibbit (Hundred Reasons, Marmozets, Nothing But Thieves) and ending up with the 12 tracks that make up ‘Wake Up’.

“Without the amazing support we've had from the PRS Foundation we wouldn't have been able to make the record, the work they do for bands like ourselves is so vital, we couldn't be more grateful.” Says frontman Si Todd. The band took advantage of the financial freedom the award allowed to work with a long admired producer, Larry Hibbit.

“Larry helped us to capture the sound of our band exactly how we imagined it.’ Continues Si. “We've always said that when we eventually recorded our debut album, we would take our time and get it right. From a performance aspect, we all pushed ourselves to completely different levels this time around, we put our heart and soul into these songs and we couldn't be more proud of how they turned out!”

Following conversations with various labels wanting to sign the band after hearing the end result, the band opted to go with Newcastle based AMAZING RECORD CO. Says Si:

“Signing to Amazing Record Co. was pretty special for us. We wanted to make sure that our album found a good home and we definitely feel like we've achieved that with these guys. Even though we plan on taking this thing as far as we can globally, we always want to make sure that we remember our roots and where we came from. Having a locally based label with the same vision and aspirations as we do makes it all a bit more exciting.”

First Ghost Releasing Debut LP 'Secret Talk' on April 1; New Single Premiering on Alternative Press

London, Ontario's First Ghost have announced plans to self-release their debut full-length 'Secret Talk' on April 1. The first single, "The Less You Know", is premiering today on Alternative Press.

Frontman Anton DeLost says, "The song reflects on the inner conflicts we face when choosing to keep secrets from loved ones."

The 4-piece first appeared on the radar of music fans in 2014 with the release of their debut EP, 'Real Eyes', that spawned the single "Shaking", which AP wrote was "strongly recommended for fans of Jimmy Eat World."

COLOUR OF NOISE Announce New Single And March 2016 UK Tour with Toseland

UK rockers Colour of Noise will be supporting Toseland on tour this March, kicking off March 16 at The Hope in Brighton and will be releasing their new single ‘Can You Hear Me’ on Friday 26th February.

Colour of Noise are a classic rock band from Brighton England who released their debut album in the Autumn of 2015 following a very successful Pledge campaign, following appearances with Thunder, Dead Daisies and played various festivals including Download, Planet Rockstock and Steelhouse.

The band features Bruce Dickinson who you may remember as the Guitar player in Little Angels, Matt Mitchell the singer from Furyon, Randy Nixon (Magic Bullet/Jeevas), Dan Electro (Magic Bullet Band) and Silent Ben Daniel on bass.

Colour of Noise use vintage equipment and record in a traditional way, are suspicious of technology, love tape and valves, but on the other had are too experimental to get hung up on that. The debut album encapsulates the spirit of 70’s stadium rock but is a very much a record for our times made by people who have lived, breathed and will die making traditional hard rock n roll. The blues is the backbone to every song. There are no ballads in a Colour of Noise set.

Matt Mitchell comments "We're excited to get back out on the road this March with our friends Toseland. It's great to be out so quick again after our last UK tour. It’s amazing that two bands can make their way in rock n roll without the need for any record label, and having that direct relationship with the people who come and see us live and buy the records. Killing Joke unveil the new video for ‘Euphoria’ from latest studio album, ‘Pylon’:



Killing Joke’s ‘Pylon', released on Spinefarm Records, debuted at #16, the band’s highest official UK chart entry in 21 years and their third highest ever.

The Euphoria video, produced by Craig Gowans, features live footage from Killing Joke’s most recent headline UK tour at the tail end of 2015, and follows the animism theme of the song, dealing with man’s connection to the universe and relationship with nature.

Following an avalanche of critical acclaim, Killing Joke’s Pylon featured heavily in the critics’ End Of Year polls for 2015, including Rolling Stone Magazine, Classic Rock, Metal Hammer and Vive Le Rock, who made it their Album Of The Year.

Pylon was produced in the UK and Prague by the band and Tom Dalgety, whose credits include the hugely successful Royal Blood album, and isn’t designed to accompany a quiet night at home in front of the fire; Pylon is very much music as ritual – raw, uncompromising and precisely-targeted lyrically, with the artwork put together by regular band associate Mike Coles, the designer behind the very first KJ album.

Former Candlelight label owner , October File bassist and Plastic Head kingpin Steve Beatty, is set to launch his new graphic novel publishing company with the release of ‘Realm Of The Damned – Tenebris Deos’ a Black Metal-infused gothic horror series, written by Alec Worley and drawn by Simon “Pye” Parr (2000 AD) on Friday May 13, 2016.

‘Realm Of The Damned’ is set in a dystopian world run by vampires and, to make things worse, the most brutal vampire ever is brought back to life.

There’s no one left to protect us from what lurks in the dark. There’s no Hellboy, no Mulder and Scully, no Torchwood or Men in Black coming to save us. The monsters have won. Our world now belongs to them…

The Vatican’s last line of paranormal defence – The Congregation – has finally been overrun by the supernatural forces of darkness. RICKY WARWICK DISCUSSES WHY HE DECIDED TO RECORD TWO ALBUMS IN NEW TRAILER

Black Star Riders frontman Ricky Warwick is set to release not one but TWO solo albums next month. The electrifying 'When Patsy Cline Was Crazy (And Guy Mitchell Sang The Blues)' and the beautifully acoustic 'Hearts On Trees' will be released as a double CD on 26th February 2016 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. We wondered why Ricky decided on recording two separate albums, which he discusses in today's new album trailer:



Warwick released the title track from the electric album, 'When Patsy Cline Was Crazy (And Guy Mitchell Sang The Blues)' recently, which fans can hear over on YouTube:



The artwork for the double albums reflect the tone of each - ‘When Patsy Cline Was Crazy (And Guy Mitchell Sang The Blues)’ showcases the electric rock and roll side of Ricky, whilst 'Hearts On Trees' veers more towards tender stripped-back songwriting, influenced by both Americana and, more importantly, Ricky's Northern Irish roots.

Ricky explains: "Hearts On Trees and When Patsy Cline Was Crazy (And Guy Mitchell Sang The Blues) were written by myself and my good friend Sam Robinson, both albums depict our experiences of growing up and coming from the Greater East Belfast area, not only experiences that have happened to us but historical references and stories that have been told to us by friends and family...in saying that both albums translate those experiences on to a global scale that hopefully anyone geographically can relate to.”

FALLING IN REVERSE DEBUTS VIDEO FOR 'CHEMICAL PRISONER'

Falling In Reverse has released a new video for their song 'Chemical Prisoner' from their latest album Just Like You. The song sees the band continuing to blaze new pathways and bridge the gap between brutal metal and pop rock.

Ronnie Radke states, "Filming this video was super fun. We did it in my hometown Vegas with my dad’s motorcycle club. One of my favourite videos to shoot." Watch the video for 'Chemical Prisoner' here:



Last year, the band's third album, Just Like You debuted at #1 on the Billboard Independent Current Album chart, landed at #3 for Current Alternative Album, #21 in the Billboard Top 200, and took the #13 spot on the Top Current Album chart. According to Revolver it is their "strongest record to date" in their review. Alternative Press said the album is "ridiculously catchy." Also in 2015, Falling In Reverse played their first international tours in Europe, South America, and made an Australian appearance at Soundwave Festival. In the U.S, Falling In Reverse played the sold-out Self Help Festival, followed byRonnie Radke's Three Ring Circus, The Supervillains Tour, and wrapped up the year with the Christmas Vacation Tour.

Secret Stuff Premiere New Song on Couch King - Debut EP 'This Is Fine' Out on Friday, January 29

Nashville's Secret Stuff is premiering a new song ("No Promises") off their upcoming debut 5-song EP, This Is Fine, on Couch King.

The EP will be released digitally and on 12" vinyl and cassette this Friday, January 29 on Spartan Records. Engineered and produced by Jon Hicks (Relient K, Haste the Day, Dance Gavin Dance) in his aptly-titled studio, Jon’s House, This Is Fine captures the angst and misery of formative years, set on the backdrop of struggling to do even that. It focuses on shortcomings, the burdens of stress, overly critical self-analysis, and coming to terms with it all (the acknowledgement of which is where the title originates).

The EP is now available for pre-order in the Spartan Records store and on Bandcamp.

Coming off of a huge 2015, with an even bigger start to 2016, all girl Phoenix Rock quartet DOLL SKIN has quickly become an up and coming band that is hard to take your eyes off of. MANTAR - 'Ode To The Flame' details revealed

Northern Germany's infernal extreme metal duo Mantar have revealed the cover artwork and tracklist for the band's forthcoming album, ‘Ode To The Flame’.

‘Ode To The Flame’ will be released on April 15th via Nuclear Blast.

Mantar commented: "Actually we discussed the possibility of having no cover at all. We kinda liked the idea of boycotting the need of any so called "art" which bands try to get people's attention with. The theme of the record is so one-dimensional and obvious that we decided to skip artwork and just put the title on the record to make it look more like an old book. A manifest, a challenge. We don't want people to speculate about any meaning. The meaning is clear: kill, destroy, fuck shit up."

Regarding the album title, Mantar states: "The title ‘Ode To The Flame’ is chosen in tradition of the debut record, ‘Death By Burning’ to maintain the cleansing power of fire as the key theme. Fire is able to reset anything and will erase this planet one day from any plague that's been around. Furthermore it's obviously an ode to passion and iron will. ‘Ode To The Flame’ isn't dramatic, it's drastic. By all means."
