TEXTURES Announced as main support on Amorphis UK dates

Dutch polyrhythmic metallers Textures are very pleased to announce that they will be supporting Amorphis on most of their upcoming UK tour in March.

Compelling front-man Daniƫl de Jongh said of the announcement:

“It's a great honour to tour the UK as main support for one of the biggest quality metal bands in Europe; AMORPHIS. The Finnish metallers are touring in support of their latest album ‘Under The Red Cloud’ (2015). We will be hitting the road to present material from our new record ‘Phenotype’ (out tomorrow!). See you on the road!”

Textures will also play the London Underworld this month as part of their larger European Tour entitled the Oceans Collide Tour 2016.

25th February 2016 – London, The Underworld

Textures are also very proud that their brand new album ‘Phenotype’ will be released tomorrow. You can purchase ‘Phenotype’ HERE (Limited Edition version inc. free signed insert).

The album is part of a musical diptych: ‘Phenotype’ – ‘Genotype’.

‘Phenotype’ is a song-based, 60-minute long album presenting an eclectic overview of what modern metal offers. Catchy, innovative and progressive songs. New musical virtuosos Uri Dijk (synth) and Joe Tal (guitar) deliver a new, harmonic vibe to their already mature sound.

‘Genotype’ which will be released in 2017 via Nuclear Blast - is a 45-minute long conceptual track. The root material that ‘Phenotype’ consists of, is presented in this song but in a totally different context. Textures go out-of-the-box. More proggy, more atmospheric and lots of extra layers to fill the final gaps left in this extensive, doubly exquisite endeavour.

Having formed in 2001, Textures launched their debut album ‘Polars’ in 2003 and the positive reactions started flooding in: “This is the best metal album that’s ever come out of the Netherlands” - Dutch music magazine Oor. After that the standard was set. Textures, once just a promising up-and-coming band from the South of the Netherlands, is now acknowledged as an established name in the worldwide metal scene. Diversity and complexity are important elements of the unique Textures sound, building bridges between epic, polyrhythmic grooves and contrasting melodies. They create their own style and establish their own interpretation of progressive, heavy modern metal.
