ENTER SHIKARI - ‘THE MINDSWEEP’ PRE-RELEASE ALBUM STREAM / RELEASE WEEK INSTORE SIGNINGS

Enter Shikari have today released a stream of their forthcoming album ‘The Mindsweep’ (out in the UK properly in one week’s time. January 19th 2015), via their site www.entershikari.com.

Featuring the singles ‘The Last Garrison’ and ‘Anaesthetist’, as well as the track ‘Never Let Go Of The Microscope’, which the band streamed via their Youtube channel recently, ‘The Mindsweep’ is the 4th full-length studio album by Enter Shikari and comes almost exactly three years to the day after the release of the band’s last album, ‘A Flash Flood Of Colour’.

Enter Shikari lyricist / singstress, Mr Rou Reynolds of Hertfordshire, had this message to share on the subject of making the album available to hear: “This limbo period... this purgatory… is finally over. We can present to you all the fruits of adversity. This bastion. This new limb. This lasting record of who we are, and what we stand for, in the year 2015AD. I hope it makes your Tympanic Membrane vibrate and your neurons fire like nothing else before.”

Pre-orders for the album are available now from www.entershikari.com, including a pair of rather lavish super-limited-edition formats and exclusive coloured vinyl available only via the band’s own webstore.

The band have also announced a short run of UK album signing sessions in record shops, as well as a special ‘album launch’ show at Kingston’s Rose Theatre in association with Banquet Records on Sunday 18th Jan, and have plans for something a bit special for London on the Monday of release on 19th.. the details for which will be forthcoming in the next day or so.

MYRKGRAV (Finest FOLK METAL from Norway) - New Single "Vonde Auer"

Lars Jensen and his one-man FOLK METAL project MYRKGRAV is finally out with new material – the independently released digital exclusive single „Vonde Auer“:

„Vonde Auer“ continues where „Sjuguttmyra“, the band’s most recent musical effort from 2013, left off. In other words: old-fashioned Folk Metal in which Jensen blends old and new in a manner distinctly Norwegian – including extensive use of Norway’s national instrument: the Hardanger fiddle, masterfully executed by renowned folk musician Olav Luksengård Mjelva.

Continuing the conceptual lyrical and visual tradition of MYRKGRAV, „Vonde Auer“ features lyrics based off of folklore from Ringerike in Norway, Lars Jensen’s homelands.

In addition to the regular „Vonde Auer“ version (though there is very little regular about it), the release also features a genuine folk music twist wherein the song has been broken down, rewritten and rearranged for the Hardanger fiddle.

If one wouldn’t know better, one’d probably think it a centuries old traditional piece of music from a faraway Norwegian fjord village. Alas, it’s simply Jensen and MYRKGRAV continuing with 1000 mile steps towards the most genuine blend of folk music and Metal possible.

New Voice of the Soul Song Streaming Now

Dubai extreme metallers Voice of the Soul have today released a brand new song entitled 'Pendulum' from their forthcoming debut album 'Catacombs'. The album will be released on 27th March 2015 distributed via UK label Hell's Hammer & India's Transcending Obscurity.

Vocalist and guitarist Kareem Chehayeb talks about the song, "This is song was inspired by the mass suicide of Jonestown that took place in 1978, but the lyrical content applies to so many political groups and cults whose leaders exploit the poor and disenfranchised for their own gain.”

The artwork (as seen below) was designed by Syrian Dubai-based artist Hamood Hallak of MHD Graphics, and was inspired by the concept of 'Pendulum'.

Kareem elaborates: "While it appears evident that there is a priest/figure leading sheep, the cliff that they are about to walk off is within the temple itself. We don’t specify whether it’s religious or not, because religion isn’t the sole focus. It’s political, it’s social."

First formed in Kuwait on the opposite side of the Persian Gulf in late 2007 17 year-old Kareem Chehayeb and 16 year-old Monish Shringi released their first EP, ‘Winds of Apprehension’ in July 2009 with second EP, ‘Eyes of Deceit’ seeking the light of day the following summer. After playing several shows in Dubai since January 2011, the band opted to relocate to the most popular city and emirate in the UAE before releasing their third EP, ‘Into Oblivion’, live on SOS Heavy Metal Radio in Portugal in August 2011. ‘Into Oblivion’ was undoubtedly the bands most successful record with songs receiving regular airplay across the globe.

During April 2014, the band made home at Haven Studio with producer Hadi Sarieddine in Dubai and recorded their debut full-length album ‘Catacombs’.

‘Catacombs’ Track Listing
