LAMB OF GOD to Release New Album “VII: Sturm Und Drang” – Available Worldwide July 2015 via Epic Records

Grammy-nominated, chart-topping Richmond, VA based heavy rock band LAMB OF GOD will release their highly-anticipated seventh full-length album, VII: Sturm Und Drang, worldwide this July via Epic Records. Today, after weeks of hinting at fans about the imminent release, the band is unleashing a brand new track, “Still Echoes”, via www.lamb-of-god.com.

LAMB OF GOD’s last album, the 2012 Grammy-nominated Resolution, debuted at #3 on the US Billboard Top 200, #1 on the US Top Hard Rock and Rock Album charts, #2 on the Canadian albums chart, and #3 on the Australian albums chart.

“Still Echoes” will be available via all digital retailers and streaming services beginning Monday, May 18th.

LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe states, “The time has come to give the fans their first taste of the new LAMB OF GOD album. This is a very, very dark, yet sonically highly varied, record. As it's always good to come out of the gate hard with a fast and aggressive one, we chose this track "Still Echoes" to kick it off. Enjoy/destroy.”

Several exclusive VII: Sturm Und Drang pre-order bundles are available now via vii-preorder. Make sure to stay tuned for more VII: Sturm Und Drang clips, tracks, and videos... coming soon.

VII: Sturm Und Drang is once again produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur with engineering by Wilbur, Nick Rowe, and Kyle McAulay, and was recorded at NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood, CA and Suburban Soul Studios in Torrance, CA.

ABOUT LAMB OF GOD:

Richmond, VA natives LAMB OF GOD originally formed in 1994 as Burn The Priest while in college together at Virginia Commonwealth University, initially performing in meagre venues and hocking rough demos amongst the local scene. In 1998, the band changed their moniker to LAMB OF GOD, which would mark their impending ascension to top-tier status, as well as one of the only tangible career deviations that the band would ever undertake – having consistently released chart-topper after chart-topper while maintaining a true and constant line-up of members and increasingly growing fanbase; a rarity in modern music. The band’s first major release, 2000’s New American Gospel, was immediately touted as an instant metal classic. AllMusic stated it best, “The essential signatures of post-Pantera metal are in abundance on Lamb of God's inaugural album. New American Gospel provides a mighty oak upon which gritty American metal's faith is maintained, effectively bridging the '90s' insistence upon drill-sergeant technicality and the old school's determined focus on riff construction.”

In 2007, just a short time after putting out monumentally successful releases Ashes of the Wake (Album, 2004, #27 of 200 debut), Killadelphia (DVD, 2004, RIAA Platinum), and Sacrament (Album, 2006, #8 of 200 debut), LAMB OF GOD was honored with a Grammy nomination for the track “Redneck”. This would mark the first of four Grammy nominations for the band. After the release of Walk With Me In Hell (DVD, 2008), the second and third Grammy nominations came in 2010 and 2011 for tracks “Set to Fail” and “In Your Words”, both cut from Wrath (CD, 2009, #2 of 200 debut). The fourth nomination arrived for the band’s track “Ghost Walking”, cut from their 2012 album Resolution (CD, #3 of 200 debut). Now, on the cusp of releasing their seventh full-length album VII: Sturm Und Drang, the five-piece is poised to prove their lasting consistency by offering another blistering contribution of the highest quality heavy metal – a record that no one other than LAMB OF GOD could truly execute.

Having amassed the globe with countless world tours and millions of albums sold, all-the-while overcoming countless hurdles ranging from personal demons to vocalist Randy Blythe’s 2013 trial in Prague (which resulted in the acclaimed 2014 full-length feature documentary, As The Palaces Burn, and upcoming book, Dark Days: A Memoir, authored by the frontman and releasing in July), LAMB OF GOD stands the test of time as the biggest, most influential heavy metal band of the new millennium.

THE OTHER - Fear Itself out via Steamhammer 22 June 2015

***EUROPE’S PREMIER HORROR PUNK ROCK BAND’S NEW ‘FEAR ITSELF’ STUDIO ALBUM UNLEASHED JUNE 22nd ON SPV***

Europe’s Number One Horror Punk Rock band The Other are set to unleash their mighty sixth studio album, ‘Fear Itself’, as a digipak CD, and as a double vinyl gatefold album, with printed inner sleeves (+ CD), on Steamhammer / SPV on June 22nd. The Other have also lined up a UK headline tour in November; dates are:

09.11.15 Manchester – Tiger Lounge 10.11.15 Leicester – The Shed 11.11.15 Nottingham - The Old Angel 12.11.15 Birmingham – Scruffy Murphy’s 13.11.15 London – The Purple Turtle 14.11.15 Brighton –Green Door Store

There are phases in life which you want to leave behind as quickly as possible, as The Other know only too well. Although their album ‘The Devils You Know’ and subsequent tour of Germany marked a major step in the right direction in 2012, the band surrounding front-man Rod Usher soon suffered a number of severe setbacks when they found themselves having to cope with two significant personnel changes – which also meant a 50% exodus of their former line-up, leaving Rod Usher and drummer Doc Caligari to their own devices. “Of course we asked ourselves: quo vadis?” Usher confesses, “but from the beginning Doc and I were determined to keep going, no matter what. Now we know that sometimes you have to wade through a vale of tears to create an atmosphere of departure.”

The band owes its newfound optimism to guitarists Pat Laveau and Ben Crowe, plus bassist Aaron Torn, who not only complete the line-up perfectly, but have also made the band stylistically more diverse thanks to the conscious distribution of the guitar parts onto two pairs of shoulders. You want proof? All you have to do is listen to the new album ‘Fear Itself’, a dark grab bag packed with the most powerful horror punk worldwide, the way only The Other are capable of creating it. Usher: “Our new band members have contributed lots of ideas to the new album, so our musical range is more diverse than ever before.”

Usher is referring to tracks such as ‘In The Dark’, a Cult influenced goth rock number with a melancholy 80’s feel to its chorus, the sinister ‘Doll Island - Isla De Las Muñecas’ with it references to Glenn Danzig and his band, and to ‘Nie mehr’, the traditional The Other metal opener, for the first time featuring German-language lyrics.

Of course there are also those punk rock tracks with sing-along chorus parts which are so typical of The Other, for example ‘Bloodsucker’ and ‘The Price You Pay’, both more than likely to become real live faves. Other highlights on the album are ‘Screams In The Black House’, fast and melodic, emotional and dark, with a twin-guitar solo and hints of Iron Maiden and Thin Lizzy thrown in. Usher: “The lyrics are about that sinister hut in the forest that everybody remembers from their childhood. Only here we’ve also got a bogey man.” ‘Rise’ is very much in the tradition of older material such as ‘Hyde Inside’ and ‘Howling At The Moon’, Usher’s lyrics bringing to mind Edgar Allan Poe and his motto “The death of a beautiful woman is unquestionably the most poetical topic in the world”.

***The first single plus video from the album is entitled ‘Dreaming Of The Devil’*** Usher states that “It’s about women who feel strangely attracted to bad guys. We can tell you a thing or two about that, and that’s what we’ve done in this song. Even if it’s wrapped in a horror story with the devil cast in an erotic part.”

So The Other obviously continue to have a penchant for unusual subject matter, as the album title hints: the term ‘Fear Itself’ is part of a quote (“nothing to fear but fear itself”) by former US president Franklin D. Roosevelt and refers to an unfounded fear that’s impossible to define (like the spider featured on the album’s cover artwork), but also the fear of new directions/decisions/risks (like the labyrinth on the cover).

Like its predecessor ‘The Devils You Know’, ‘Fear Itself’ was produced by Waldemar Sorychta (Grip Inc., Tiamat, Moonspell), who was also responsible for the powerful final mix of ‘New Blood’ (2010). As far as The Other are concerned, Sorychta is the ideal producer, or, as Usher puts it: “There could be no better producer for The Other than Waldemar, with the exception of Bob Ezrin (Alice Cooper, Kiss) and Rick Rubin (Metallica, Danzig, The Cult) perhaps.”

And there could be nobody better than Daniel Madden and the Figurenwerkstatt Ruland replica workshop to create the Rod Usher and Doc Caligari collectible dolls and The Other wall plaque. So The Other mark 2015 continue to be a multimedia spectacle, a real Eldorado for horror fans and collectors. ‘Fear Itself’ is the perfect soundtrack for that scene.

MILEY CYRUS Performs with Woodstock Legend MELANIE

MILEY CYRUS Performs with Woodstock Legend MELANIE – Watch Them Perform Hits “Look What They've Done To My Song Ma” & “Peace Will Come (According To Plan)”

Melanie Safka, the legendary folk rock singer more commonly known as MELANIE, is recognized internationally for her hit tracks “Brand New Key”, “Look What They've Done To My Song Ma”, “Peace Will Come (According To Plan)”, and more. Singer songwriter MELANIE recently joined pop music star Miley Cyrus to perform and record a number of tracks for Cyrus’ “Backyard Sessions” series, presented by the Happy Hippie Foundation. The videos are part of a major social media initiative between Cyrus and Facebook where charitable donations can be made through the site.

The Happy Hippie Foundation is designed to fund programs and help provide homeless youth, LGBT youth and other vulnerable youth populations with consistent support services, education and employment opportunities.

You can watch the unique, eclectic collaboration videos now via Miley Cyrus’ official Facebook page www.facebook.com/MileyCyrus. Every future Happy Hippie Backyard Session will be available for viewing via this page. Other videos in the series include musicians such as Joan Jett, Ariana Grande and Against Me! frontwoman Laura Jane Grace.

You can also watch each video in a comprehensive news piece via FUSE TV: www.fuse.tv

The FUSE article states, “Safka, who performs simply as MELANIE, has been strumming and singing for four decades. Her rugged, soaring voice is a perfect match for Miley’s; it’s hard to believe these two are just singing in a back yard, rather than onstage at the Grand Ole Opry or Woodstock ’69. (Which, incidentally, featured MELANIE on the bill.)”

Miley Cyrus is a self-proclaimed fan of MELANIE, having previously recorded “Look What They've Done To My Song Ma” to widespread acclaim and having used the song for the Free the Nipple campaign. Cyrus calls MELANIE, “a hippie hero and always a prophet of a peace,” on her Facebook page. Following the Session, Miley Cyrus added, “it was such a magical day... It was a dream to sing beside her.”

MELANIE shares, "Here's our Miley, taking action to have an impact on the world, in the tradition, not only of the Woodstock generation, but artists who are determined to make a difference.” She adds, “Miley is the voice of unity in a divisive world.”

ABOUT MELANIE:

Since 1967, MELANIE has sold over 120 million copies of her 40+ albums, and her songs have been covered by a variety of artists such as Cher, Dolly Parton, Barbara Streisand, Nana Mouskouri, Dion, Ray Charles, Dollyrots, Hilltop Hoods, and of course, Miley Cyrus. She was one of only three female solo artists to be featured at the legendary Woodstock in 1969, amongst Janis Joplin and Joan Baez. In 1979, MELANIE won an Emmy for her lyrics to Beauty and the Beast. She has written three plays – her most recent one, Melanie and the Record Man, as a tribute to her late husband. The show sold out 15 nights in a row during its launch run in Rochester, NY and is currently being negotiated for off-Broadway showings. Of late, MELANIE has performed sold out tours in Australia and the Netherlands, and recently released her ‘1984’ album featuring newly uncovered live performances. She will release a Live in Australia album this year, in addition to four more albums in the UK this summer. 2016 will mark MELANIE’s 50th year in music. She is set to release commemorative ‘Legacy’ sets in celebration, is currently recording an upcoming album of newly written songs, and is in the midst of publishing her autobiography.

SEPULTURA ANNOUNCE TWO UK AND IRELAND SHOWS THIS AUGUST

Brazilian metal icons Sepultura are very pleased to announce two shows this August in the UK and Ireland.

Sepultura’s UK and Ireland dates will be following a Main Stage performance at legendary Derbyshire metal festival Bloodstock where they will be playing alongside Rob Zombie, Black Label Society and Cannibal Corpse at the renowned Catton Park ground.

It was the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil that launched the ascent of their native sons Sepultura (Portuguese for “grave”) in 1983 with a trajectory unsuspectingly aimed at the worldwide metal music scene. They were a band with humble beginnings, whose musical identity was forged in the context of living through Brazil’s authoritarian military dictatorship. Sepultura would go on to become Brazilian ambassadors to the metal world, revered master architects of the death/thrash genre, and the most successful heavy metal band from the Federal Republic of Brazil.

Sepultura are celebrating their 30th Anniversary this year, and they’re unstoppable!

They have released thirteen studio albums to date, the latest being ‘The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart’ in 2013. The album was inspired by Austrian filmmaker Fritz Lang’s classic 1927 movie ‘Metropolis.’ Sepultura leaned heavily on the strength of their thrash metal influences to make a statement against the dehumanizing effects of technology. The album was an angry dystopian documentary in sonic form – which also addressed the chaotic aftermath of natural disasters, the unfulfilled promises of religion, and the still-widening divide & unbridgeable gap between pampered citizens who live in decadent luxury and the working poor who withstand unbearable living & working conditions to simply survive.

You can see Sepultura at the following shows:

Aug 9th – Bloodstock Festival, Derbyshire
Aug 10th - Dublin, Academy
Aug 11th – Chester, Live Rooms

STEVE'N'SEAGULLS Thunderstruck passes 12 million Youtube views & band tour UK

Steve’N’Seagulls bring their unique style to the UK for a run of shows including two performances at the Great Escape Festival in Brighton on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th to celebrate the release of their debut album Farm Machine

What became a genuine international phenomenon actually started out on a farm in central Finland; in a barn, to be precise…

There, in said barn, a bunch of like-minded countrymen—with the emphasis on "country"—played a customized version of AC/DC's "Thunderstruck," wearing the daftest outfits they could find. They filmed the event, posted the results on YouTube, and within a couple of weeks, the clip had accumulated over five million views. It's now topped out at 12 million. Pretty impressive, right?

For Steve 'N' Seagulls, this was a bolt from the blue, but then, as history shows us, the greatest stories ever told tend to start in a stable… Yes, a stable.

Now, the band is gearing up to release Farm Machine on Spinefarm on May 11. "Finally it's complete!" exclaim the band. "And the fruits of our labour please us. We are now preparing to take on the world!"

Please watch the band take on AC/DC classics "Thunderstruck."

If you need a refresher on who, exactly, Steven'N'Seagulls are, then settle in and get schooled.

Sporting possibly the greatest band name in history, S'N'S, comprised of an acoustic guitarist/vocalist; a banjo player; a double-bassist; a big dude wearing overalls a beaver hat playing mandolin/keyboards/accordion/whatever-he-gets-his-hands-on; and a cajon-straddlin' percussionist, have delivered a 13-track album featuring rural riffs and villager vocals, filled to the brim with "hillbillified" versions of immortal heavy metal standards—the track listing is below.

It's a body of work best enjoyed with a bathtub of moonshine close at hand, but really, as foot-stompingly enjoyable as S'N'S are on record, you ain't seen nothin' 'til you've experienced The 'Gulls live.

The redneck show tours nonstop, rocking the honky-tonks overseas… for now.

Steve'N'Seagulls will skedaddle off to Swedish and Norwegian soil, before raisin' hell at European festivals. In September, they are planning to head over to the U.S. and Canada before returning to Europe for further merriment and mayhem.

Let the hillbillification commence…

Track Listing:

"Grand Opening" "Black Dog" "Thunderstruck" "The Trooper" "Ich Will" "Paradise City" "Nothing Else Matters" "Over the Hills and Far Away" "Seek and Destroy" "Holy Diver" "Run to The Hills" "You Shook Me All Night Long" "Cemetery Gates"

SPINEFARM RECORDS ACTS REPRESENT AT DOWNLOAD 2015

All you rockers, ready to get down ‘n’ dirty at Donington with the Download Dog can lay witness to a plethora of Spinefarm bands on a variety of stages throughout the weekend (June 12-14); start out on the Friday with our lads in DECADE, who guarantee to get you jumpin’ for joy (just don’t expect them to replace the beer that’s sure to be all over your T-shirt/ shorts/ head).

Take a quick hop-step-lunge over to the third stage and get low for the mighty KROKODIL. A too-cool-for-school, arm cross and head nod is not going to cut it here; that growl from frontman Simon Wright will penetrate your soul and resonate in the pit of your stomach! EMBRACE THOSE RIFFS AND ROCK THE FUCK OUT.

Now that you’re suitably sticky, why not head over to THE CADILLAC THREE? If you follow in the band’s footsteps, you’ll soon be a few whiskeys in, “getting your buzz on!” But hey, “they’re southern and it ain’t their fault”…

What you do with Friday from then on is nothing to do with us! But make sure you get some shut eye as Saturday marks your opportunity to see the other-worldly magnificence that is PURSON…

A new signing for Spinefarm Records and a bloody exciting one, singer, guitarist, songwriter Rosalie Cunningham fronts this UK outfit whose music touches on a variety of realms, including folk, prog, psychedelic, gothic & classic rock. GROOVY!

But there’s no time for tired limbs on Sunday as that’s when those dashing Scandinavian siblings, VON HERTZEN BROTHERS, will be bringing their own brand of stadium rock to the stage. This will be their first ever Download appearance and it’s one certain to turn a few heads. If you’re a fan of Muse, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters or even Queen, VON HERTZEN BROTHERS have the credentials to become your new favourite band.

Now, I’ve heard rumours that you like your rock HARD? Well, I’ve got a treat for you: G.O.D.S.M.A.C.K. Oh yeah!!! Boston monsters of rock GODSMACK have been a much-missed commodity in the UK, having not played here in six years, so rev yourself up at that barrier, my friend, cos that fist has some air-pumping to do!

Talking of fists, grab all of your pals because Alaskan metallers 36 CRAZYFISTS are playing main stage, motherfuuuuckers! And, oh my, do they deserve it! Following the release of current album, ‘Time and Trauma’ – which won the guys top-notch reviews across the board and saw them playing every town on this little island of ours – they are back by popular demand. Come join Brock & Co. as they drag us all in for a bloody great bear-hug then spit us all out, wind-milling all over the place. THIS SHIT’S FOR REAAAAL!

AND SLEEP.

ARCH ENEMY launch video for 'Stolen Life (2015 Version)'

Right before extreme metal titans ARCH ENEMY kick off their next European tour in France tonight, they are releasing a digital single for the track 'Stolen Life (2015 Version)'. This brand-new version of the song that was originally released on the 2014 album, War Eternal, features additional lead/solo parts of their new guitarist Jeff Loomis and is available as of now!

ARCH ENEMY also launch a new video for 'Stolen Life (2015 Version)', which was directed and produced by Carlos Toro V. (Abysmo Films). It was filmed in Chile during their recent Latin America tour in early 2015.

Watch it here:

ARCH ENEMY founder and guitarist Michael Amott comments: "I can't believe it's been almost a year since we released the ‛War Eternal‛ album! Time flies when you're having fun huh?! We're just starting up our summer tour here in Europe and there's still a long way to go - we're booked up till Christmas! There has been such an amazing reaction to the new music and lineup and it is really keeping us motivated. Having Jeff Loomis out with us on the road is fantastic. A fine player and a true gentleman. I'm super happy that he could throw down a couple of leads on this new exciting version of "Stolen Life", it really adds some new fire to the song. On our recent tour in Latin America we had the opportunity to film a video for our new single. It was a really good experience working with the talented Abysmo team and I'm more than happy with the end result! I look forward to seeing you all out there on the road..."
