THE ORDER OF APOLLYON sign with Agonia Records

French black/death metal masters THE ORDER OF APOLLYON, also referred to as TOOA, have inked a record deal with Agonia Records, with plans to record a new EP in 2016.

Formed in 2008 by BST (Aosoth, ex-Aborted) and then-drummer Daniel Wilding (Carcass), THE ORDER OF APOLLYON is an artistic and spiritual concept. With lyrics based on "the Divine nature of Death, and the prophecy carried on by Death's ultimate servant, man, and a music between death metal and black metal, with martial ambient influences" (as commented by the band themselves), TOOA have developed their personal sound through two full length albums: "The Flesh" (2010) and "The Sword And The Dagger" (2015).

Accompanied by a line-up consisting of members of the elite of the French Black Metal scene (Hell Militia, Aosoth, Temple of Baal), and starting a new international collaboration with Agonia Records, the band is now focusing on their next release, to be recorded at the infamous Bst Studios.

Upcoming shows:

March 5th 2016 - Venom Fest III - Nantes, France

THE KBV "Of Desire" out March 11th via Metropolis Records

On a foundation of Shoegaze and Coldwave, The KVB layer a virtual history of the dark underground music scene stretching all the way back through early Stone Roses and New Order, the Jesus and Mary Chain, the Charlatans UK, Suicide, and even all the way back to The Velvet Underground, to create something familiar but new: cold and angular and yet warm and lush. You can check them out for yourself with the first release off of new album "Of Desire" - "In Deep", of which says the NME:

"Nicholas Wood's vocals are delivered cocksure, but there's also an icy, androgynous air to proceedings, while the track's bullish intro pushes it even further in that pre-baggy Creation Records direction." Available March 11th in the Americas from Metropolis Records on Vinyl, CD and Digital.

TEXTURES Announced as main support on Amorphis UK dates

Dutch polyrhythmic metallers Textures are very pleased to announce that they will be supporting Amorphis on most of their upcoming UK tour in March.

Compelling front-man Daniël de Jongh said of the announcement:

“It's a great honour to tour the UK as main support for one of the biggest quality metal bands in Europe; AMORPHIS. The Finnish metallers are touring in support of their latest album ‘Under The Red Cloud’ (2015). We will be hitting the road to present material from our new record ‘Phenotype’ (out tomorrow!). See you on the road!”

March 18th – Bristol, The Fleece March 19th – Manchester, Sound Control March 20th – Dublin, Button Factory March 22nd – Wolverhampton, Slade Rooms March 24th – Glasgow, Cathouse March 25th – Nottingham, Rescue Rooms

Textures will also play the London Underworld this month as part of their larger European Tour entitled the Oceans Collide Tour 2016.

25th February 2016 – London, The Underworld

Textures are also very proud that their brand new album ‘Phenotype’ will be released tomorrow. You can purchase ‘Phenotype’ HERE (Limited Edition version inc. free signed insert).

The album is part of a musical diptych: ‘Phenotype’ – ‘Genotype’.

‘Phenotype’ is a song-based, 60-minute long album presenting an eclectic overview of what modern metal offers. Catchy, innovative and progressive songs. New musical virtuosos Uri Dijk (synth) and Joe Tal (guitar) deliver a new, harmonic vibe to their already mature sound.

‘Genotype’ which will be released in 2017 via Nuclear Blast - is a 45-minute long conceptual track. The root material that ‘Phenotype’ consists of, is presented in this song but in a totally different context. Textures go out-of-the-box. More proggy, more atmospheric and lots of extra layers to fill the final gaps left in this extensive, doubly exquisite endeavour.

Having formed in 2001, Textures launched their debut album ‘Polars’ in 2003 and the positive reactions started flooding in: “This is the best metal album that’s ever come out of the Netherlands” - Dutch music magazine Oor. After that the standard was set. Textures, once just a promising up-and-coming band from the South of the Netherlands, is now acknowledged as an established name in the worldwide metal scene. Diversity and complexity are important elements of the unique Textures sound, building bridges between epic, polyrhythmic grooves and contrasting melodies. They create their own style and establish their own interpretation of progressive, heavy modern metal.

Over a year since their last headline UK tour, THE DEFILED planned to grace our shores once more this January with a run of headline shows in January and February 2016 following a short run of dates as main support to In This Moment. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond their control, the In This Moment tour was postponed and so The Defiled's headline dates also became delayed.

Both the headline shows and the support shows with In This Moment have now been announced to take place in May. Full dates are below.

The AvD comments, “After our 'Running in Circles' tour getting postponed earlier this year we are proud to announce that we are hitting the road with our brothers Forever Never. These are off dates that coincide with our In This Moment UK tour so get ready for some intimate drunken shenanigans. Can't wait to see all your pretty faces, let's party!”

2016 will also be a record breaking year for the band when the four piece are officially added to the Guinness Book Of World Records. Braving arctic conditions, THE DEFILED became the first band to play a gig on an iceberg last year as part of Jagermeister’s Ice Cold Gig series. The stunt will be immortalised forever in the 2016 Guinness Book Of World Records.
