Cult of Luna and Julie Christmas premiere new track “A Greater Call”

NEW ALBUM "MARINER" Out April 8
SOMEWHERE ALONG THE HIGHWAY 10th Year Anniversary tour in April

Cult of Luna & Julie Christmas premiere a brand new track “A Greater Call” with Prog. Listen HERE

Cult Of Luna comment: "A Greater Call is the link between the city and the void above. Imagine walking up to your vessel. How the excitement grabs hold of you. The feeling of uncertainty.

Are you even going to be able to push through the atmosphere in one piece? A last breathe before blast of and then we leave. The song is about how humanity is cutting its losses and leave. Its only hope lies above. Although it might not be representative of the album as a whole and Julie’s involvement. It is where the journey starts."

With their mindmelting eighth epos, Cult Of Luna & Julie Christmas brings you to the outer rim of the ever expanding boundaries of the cosmos - where the rules of man is not applicable and the cold, dark nothing envelops the harsh realities of the universe.

Since their beginnings in 1998 – Cult Of Luna has released seven albums, been awarded the top rock/ metal award at the Swedish National Radio Awards and cemented their status as one of the true progressors of the metal genre, beknownst to most metal aficionados.

In 2013, the Swedes teamed up with Indie Recordings for the release of perhaps their most successful work to date in the shape of “Vertikal I” and "Vertikal II". These cohesive pieces of work received worldwide appraisal and only pillared Cult Of Luna to even greater heights.

For their eight effort, the post-metal pioneers join forces with the talented Julie Christmas (Battle Of Mice, Made Out of Babies) from Brooklyn, who brings an even larger depth to Cult Of Lunas sound – powerfully displayed on “Mariner”.

ACE FREHLEY ANNOUNCES COVERS LP, ORIGINS VOL. 1, "WHITE ROOM" DEBUTED VIA ROLLINGSTONE.COM

CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO WHITEROOM VIA ROLLING STONE

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer ACE FREHLEY has announced Origins Vol. 1, a collection of 12 newly recorded classics from Ace’s formative years featuring some of the biggest names in rock and roll, on April 15, 2016. Most notably, KISS frontman PAUL STANLEY joins ACE on Free's hit "Fire and Water." This collaboration marks the first time that Ace and Paul appear on the same studio recording since KISS' 1998 reunion album Psycho Circus.

Ace spoke with Rolling Stone about the new record, his guest players and recording with Paul after all these years. Rolling Stone writes: Regarding his reunion with Stanley, Frehley shrugs off any residual tension between the two of them. "We've always been friends," he says. "The press seems to amplify negativity. I guess it makes good copy."

Today Rolling Stone debuts "White Room," the classic hit originally performed by Cream. Other guests are none other than Slash trading leads on Thin Lizzy's classic "Emerald," Lita Ford singing and playing lead on The Troggs staple "Wild Thing," Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 playing guitar alongside Ace as he sings his classic KISS composition "Parasite" for the very first time, as well as Jimi Hendrix's "Spanish Castle Magic," and Pearl Jam's Mike McCready also plays guitar with Ace as he finally sings his KISS “Alive!” mainstay "Cold Gin." "White Room" is also an iTunes instant gratification track, meaning fans who pre order the LP on iTunes will receive the Cream cover song instantly.

Ace will be as active as ever on the road in 2016, having just announced 3 weeks worth of tour dates in the U.S., including two nights at the B.B. King Blues Club in New York City. Ace will be joined on the road by Richie Scarlet (rhythm, guitar and vocal duties), Chris Wyse on bass and vocals (The Cult), Scott Coogan on drums (Nikki Sixx’s Brides of Destruction).

Origins Vol. 1 will be the follow up to Space Invader, released in 2014. Space Invader was Frehley's first studio album in five years, and the LP debuted at #9 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart, scoring the highest charting position of any KISS solo album ever, and marked Frehley's first return to the Top 10 since KISS' aforementioned 1998's Psycho Circus in 1998.

Space Invader, received high praise from critics. Rolling Stone wrote, "Gene Simmons has claimed Ace Frehley doesn't deserve to wear Kiss' Kabuki clown paint, but the former Spaceman's first solo LP in five years says otherwise," while Associated Press hailed, "The original Kiss lead guitarist has recorded his best solo album since his groundbreaking self-titled album in 1978." Paste Magazine also confirmed, "Space Invader is a good rock album, and it’s an even better guitar record."

MICHAEL MONROE IS "GOIN' DOWN WITH THE SHIP"

Legendary singer Michael Monroe has premiered the video for "Goin' Down With the Ship", the latest single from his 2015-released studio album, Blackout States. The video arrives just as Monroe and his regular touring band hit US shores for a two-week run of shows.

"The song is not necessarily about sailing or seamanship as such," Monroe explains. "It's basically about us getting on the tour bus and hitting the road with our band. Ville Juurikkala, who shot the videos for 'Ballad of the Lower East Side’, 'Stained Glass Heart’ and 'Old King's Road' has done this new one, too. It was pretty easy to make and includes some footage shot by the band while we were on tour.

"I think the video has a good vibe and we're all happy with the way it turned out. Hope you enjoy it!"

With all that in mind, it’s time to go down with the ship!

THE LUMINEERS REVEAL BRAND NEW VIDEO FOR SINGLE ‘OPHELIA’

Platinum-selling, Denver outfit, The Lumineers, today release the music video for new single ‘Ophelia’, the first track from their eagerly-awaited second album ‘Cleopatra’ – the follow-up to their multi-Grammy-nominated, self-titled debut. The band are also hitting the road for a much anticipated headline UK tour this April, which will see them headlining London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire. The dazzling ‘Ophelia' is the comeback single that fans have been waiting for. Its sing-along vocals and rolling piano hooks instantly conjure up the classic Lumineers sound that took the country by storm back in 2012 when the band released their debut album. It immediately picks up where the band left off, receiving 1.8 million streams in just 5 days on Spotify and climbing to #3 in Spotify’s global, viral charts. The track has already become a fan favourite, with fans paying homage to the tune by posting numerous cover versions of the track on YouTube within hours of its release.

The stunning single is now accompanied by equally evocative visuals in a beautifully shot new music video from director Isaac Ravishankara. The video features the band’s frontman, Wesley Schultz, dancing in the streets in mesmerizing scenes that pay homage to the classic Gene Kelly film ‘Singin’ In the Rain’. Wes stated: “For the music video Ophelia, our good friend Isaac Ravishankara, who directed the Stubbon Love music video from our first record, brought us a treatment that involved me dancing in the streets while it was raining so I had to learn choreography for the first time in my life. I learned how to dance for this music video”

After exploding onto the scene with their monster single, 'Ho Hey', and its follow-up, 'Stubborn Love' (recently featured on President Barack Obama’s Spotify playlist), The Lumineers spent a solid three years touring six of the seven continents. During that time, the band earned a pair of Grammy nominations (Best New Artist, Best Americana Album), contributed two songs to The Hunger Games franchise (including the hit Jennifer Lawrence/James Newton Howard collaboration, 'The Hanging Tree') and sold an impressive 3 million+ albums worldwide.

The Lumineers took the UK by storm with the release of their first album in 2012, which propelled them from appearing at Hoxton Bar & Grill as relative unknowns, to playing two consecutive sold-out nights at Brixton Academy and headlining the 10,400 capacity Alexandra Palace as household names. And it was their show-stopping performance on the Other Stage at ‎Glastonbury in 2013 that cemented their position as one of the biggest breakout bands in the world.

But Cleopatra proves original members Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites – who founded the band in Ramsey, New Jersey back in 2002 – along with cellist/vocalist Neyla Pekarek, are neither taking their good fortune for granted, nor sitting back on their laurels.

With the help of producer Simone Felice (The Felice Brothers, The Avett Brothers), the band ensconced themselves in The Clubhouse, a recording studio high atop a hill in rural Rhinebeck, NY, not far from Woodstock. The Lumineers then set about trying to make musical sense of their three-year-plus rollercoaster ride. Their skill at setting a visual story to music comes through amidst the delicate, deceptively simple acoustic soundscapes.

“We took the same approach this time as we did with the first album, recording demos in a small house we rented in the original Denver neighbourhood where we first moved,” explains Wesley, contributing the lyrical ideas while collaborating on the music with Jeremiah, who tackled a variety of instruments, including guitar, the very prominent piano and trademark tribal drums.

There is something timeless about this band that links their songs to 18th century pastorals, 19th century work songs, 20th century folk narratives and 21st century post-modern cinematic soundscapes. Success hasn’t spoiled The Lumineers; rather, it’s inspired them to follow their muses even further.
