The Hell Within Teaser - Slash Fiction

JUPITER FALLS - New, young heavy rock guitar heroes release blistering debut album ‘Revolution’ on August 10th, via Broken Road Records

Jupiter Falls are an immensely gifted young metal / hard rock quintet, who mix anthemic, classic rock foundations with a modern, heavy alt-rock edge, to create a fresh sound that’s sure to inspire fans of breathtaking guitar pyrotechnics, and hard-hitting, groove-laden hooks. Forming in Leeds in 2013, and fast amassing a fanbase far and wide, following touring with Jake E Lee’s Red Dragon Cartel in France and the UK in 2014, Jupiter Falls are now set to release their highly accomplished debut album ‘Revolution’ on August 10th, via Broken Road Records.

‘Revolution’’s awesomely crisp sound comes courteous of legendary producer Roy Z, known for his work with major names such as Judas Priest, Yngwie Malmsteen and Bruce Dickinson. Jupiter Falls were introduced to Roy by their former manager, and as singer James Hart tells it, “We were just having a night in our studio with a few beers when we got a Skype out of the blue and it was Roy. We were totally taken off guard, especially when he said how much he loved our music”.

What Roy fell in love with was an incredible blend of superlative technical skills, and solid, powerful heavy rock songwriting, influenced by the likes of Guns ‘n’ Roses, Dio, Alter Bridge, Shinedown and Avenged Sevenfold. At the fore of Jupiter Falls’ dynamic sound are James’ distinctive yet versatile vocals, which move easily from gravelly growl to rich melody, and the amazing skills of lead guitarist Deano Silk, who consistently delivers memorable riffs and breathtaking solos throughout ‘Revolution’.

The pair started collaborating after James saw a YouTube clip of Deano playing. “The guy just blew me away!”, James remembers, and three weeks later they were in the studio together, writing what would become ‘Revolution’. Next, they assembled the stunningly tight rhythm section, consisting of rhythm guitarist Zachari Daniels, bassist Dan Clark, and drummer Lewie Lewington, who conspire to create Jupiter Falls’ booming bottom end, adding a pulverizing weight and depth to the sound.

The lead single, ‘Chasing The Dragon’, out as a download on August 3rd, is a strong indicator of the quality of the material in store. A swinging hard rocker, with several shades of Slash in its chugging freight-train riffs and fluid, fast-fingered solos, the song serves as a superb introduction to Jupiter Falls’ songwriting, which draws freely from the classic canon right through to modern icons over the course of ‘Revolution’s 12 tracks.

On the album opener ‘Awake’, which begins with a reading of the children’s bedtime prayer ‘Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep’ (doubtless familiar to metalheads everywhere from a certain other song!), James’ sings with an appropriately Hetfield-esque snarl, while for the brooding story of betrayal ‘When The Time Is Right’, he delivers an aching and emotive vocal, perfectly complemented by Deano’s seething guitarlines.

As confidently as they pen slow-burners such as ‘When The Time Is Right’, and searing rock ballad ‘World War Three’, Jupiter Falls can also unleash sheer brutal aggression. ‘Forgiven’ is one fine example of the album’s heavier moments, where staccato riffing and moody guitar melodies mesh with Lewie’s merciless machine gun-fire drumming in an incredible intro. Elsewhere, the grooving, Latino-flavoured ‘Lei E Quella’ serves up one of Deano’s most transcendent solos, before the epic, keyboard-led arrangements of closing track ‘Where Are You Now?’ round off the record in spectacular style, and reinforces the point that Jupiter Falls are one seriously exciting, exceptionally talented new act.

WE CAME AS ROMANS - New Self-Titled Album To Be Released July 24th via Spinefarm Records

We Came As Romans have officially announced their highly anticipated self-titled new album, which will be released July 24th, 2015 via Spinefarm Records. The album was recorded with multi-platinum, award-winning producer David Bendeth (Bring Me The Horizon, Paramore, Of Mice & Men), and is now available for pre-order at one of the following links:

iTunes
WCAR UK merch store

“Writing this record with David Bendeth was very intense,” states vocalist Dave Stephens. “If a song wasn't great, it was rewritten until it was, and if it still wasn't great, it was cut. We wrote close to 40 songs for this record and only ten made the album. Beyond becoming better writers and musicians, it made us stronger as a band and as a team.”

Today, We Came As Romans release a brand new song taken from the album. Fans can now stream the lead single, “The World I Used To Know” via soundcloud.

The band explains the new song by stating, “When we were younger, we had a youthful spirit that made us less fearful of the changing world around us. Even though we've lost that and are now more aware of the negativity in the world, we need to remember those days and view the world with a hopeful spirit.”

“The World I Used To Know” will be offered as an instant grat track when pre-ordered digitally from iTunes.

Buried In Verona "Vultures Above, Lions Below" released 7 August 2015 via UNFD

Buried In Verona have been through hell. Deceived by those they trusted most and staring oblivion in the face, the core of the band regrouped, recruited fresh blood and collectively refused to let the world get the better of them.

And from the wreckage come their best songs yet, fuelled as much by rage as they were by defiance. Vultures Above, Lions Below (UNFD, August 07) is the sound of a band who have decided that nothing less than revenge on the world that spat them out will do. It's sometimes easy to forget their pedigree – Notorious and Faceless hit #20 and #15 on the ARIA chart in 2012 and 2014 respectively – but events of the past year conspired to push them to their limits.

Written, produced and recorded entirely by the band – Brett Anderson (vocals), Richie Newman (guitar), Mark Harris (guitar), Brandon Martel (bass) and James Swanson (drums) – it's the most powerful, honest and subsequently exciting album to ever wear the Buried In Verona name.

But in order to move forward, they had to pay homage to the past. Only Brett and Richie are counted as alumni from past albums; the new guys were plunged into a situation where it was sink-or-swim time, both for them trying to prove themselves and for the band as a whole.

“Mark had a massive influence on this album,” explains Newman. “He had riffs and song ideas flowing out every day, and was doing such a good job working with us to preserve the old Buried In Verona sound to gel with the new direction we wanted to take. We just let him go because we were onto such a good thing!”

And even though the band have had to do a lot of growing up, the things that still make Buried In Verona who they are are still present and correct – 'Separation''s titanic riff positively drips with bile; 'Done For Good' takes their anthemic sensibilities to new heights and there's a blunt force to 'Extraction' that shows they've lost none of their power.

Nevertheless, threaded throughout the musical chaos is a newfound sense of perspective and loss that was compounded further by the brotherhood between the two longest-serving members of the band. “Brett wrote his lyrics based on everything that is and was going on his world,” continues Newman. “We’ve both been so up and down emotionally, so what I heard really hit me hard, because I know what he’s going through and hearing him sing his heart out on the album was an amazing experience to be a part of.

“I was in a really low point in my life struggling with depression, so everything I was writing lyrically and musically was sounding really depressing. Mark stepped in and helped me put a positive spin on a lot of my songs.”

That duality is present in the likes of 'Can't Be Unsaid', which is a powerful ode to moving on despite a brutal past, and the coldly honest 'Pathways', which examines the impact of one too many hangovers and one too few apologies.

“This whole album is the album we have always wanted to write,” finishes Newman. “It’s the most honest representation of who we are as people – we’ve been through hell and back in a lot of aspects in our lives, and this is the end result.”

URN® Signs with Dark Moon Records; Releases New Album “Epiphany” on August 25, 2015

The U.S.-based dark metal band URN® has inked a deal with Dark Moon Records, a subsidiary of Dark Moon Productions for their new upcoming album, “Epiphany”, to be released world-wide on Tuesday, August 25th, 2015.

Watch URN's "Cast In Amber" Music Video From Their Upcoming Album "Epiphany" Below:

Since 2000, URN® has been on a musical journey exploring the darker aspects of both the conscious mind and the unconscious soul. The band has been captivating audiences across multiple genres and have been establishing themselves as one the more energetic live acts to see. The line-up consists of seasoned veterans formerly of national acts such as The Electric Hellfire Club and Diabolic Intent.

This will be URN’s fifth major release following up their “Consecrated Ashes” EP (2002), “Desecrated Ashes” EP (2003), “Dancing with the Demigods” LP (2006), and “Scribings of a Forgotten Soul” LP (2009).

URN® has drawn comparisons from national trade media to artists such as Type O Negative, Lacuna Coil, Amorphis, Nightwish, My Dying Bride and many similar acts of whom they have shared the stage with over the years and find a certain beauty in darkness.

In addition, the band over the years has collaborated with artists of other mediums such as Michelle Belanger, noted author of the Psychic Vampire Codex and former cast member of A&E’s Paranormal State.

Scott Clendenin, formerly of the pioneering death metal band Death, had been performing with URN® the past two years until his untimely passing this past March due to health complications. The band has dedicated this new album to his memory.

The band has filmed and released a promotional music video for the title track and is currently in talks with a new booking agency for touring plans to support the new release for the fall of 2015 and the majority of 2016.

ATREYU reveal brand new music video for 'Long Live'

Album out September 18th via Search and Destroy/Spinefarm Records

Approximately a year ago, Atreyu – one of the pivotal, definitive groups of the American hard rock and heavy metal scene that dominated the ’00s – emerged from a period of self-imposed dormancy; the musicians played both festivals and sold-out headline shows, released a new song that earned instant social media trending status (‘So Others May Live’), and commenced writing a new album, to the delight of the fans.

Now, the band is gearing up to unleash that album, Long Live, on September 18th via Search and Destory/Spinefarm Records, and there is a swell of activity surrounding the release.

The video for the title track, directed by band bassist Porter McKnight, was released on July 17th.

The band has also revealed the full track-listing for the album, along with the cover art (see below).

Pre-orders for Long Live are available with ticket bundles; fans can pre-order the record here www.longliveatreyu.com or on iTunes.

Drummer Brandon Saller says, “This is my favourite video we’ve ever created. We were fortunate to have our own Porter McKnight at the helm with the art direction and filming. Also, we wanted to make the pre-order options interesting and have items for the true collector. Grab your pre-order and get the title track instantly. Then I recommend going to your car, cranking it up and driving fast while screaming your f**ing head off!"

“Long Live is by far my favourite Atreyu video, which his fitting because our new record, Long Live, is the strongest Atreyu record to date,” adds frontman Alex Varkatzas.

McKnight has provided the art direction for the entire project, from album artwork to promo photos, making the overall set-up truly of the band and by the band...

“To be at the helm of a project that holds so much love and joy for us provides an indescribable sense of excitement and pleasure,” says McKnight. “It is truly a fantastic experience and an honour unlike any I’ve ever known.”

Three Day Millionaires announce new self-titled EP and release show

Kick-arse Hull-based Punk/Rock act Three Day Millionaires have just released their new single 'Behind These Eyes' on Warren Records. Three Day Millionaires is a four-piece hailing from Hull and features former members of Freaks Union, The Living Daylights, Outspoken Silence and Vultures in Vivid Colours. They are Danny Harrison (bass and vocals), Adam Pyrah (guitar), Nick Milner (guitar) and Jamie Dean (drums).

Speaking about their new EP, Danny Harrison comments: “As soon as we had a handful of songs, five or six I'd probably say, we knew we had something. We knew we actually had a band, which at this point didn't even have a name. The name is something that's historically linked with Hull.

"Three Day Millionaires were legends within the city. Real ballers as we'd probably say nowadays. We wanted something relatable, how many times have you been paid or got your student loan through and checked your balance on a Monday and though 'shit...'? That also ties in with some of the lyrical themes in the album. Everything becomes so much more relevant as you get older. I look at what I haven't got, rather than what I have." Three Day Millionaires have been quick to turn heads and have been featured by Alan Raw's BBC Introducing show on Radio Humberside, where they played a live session. Check it out:

Punktastic also streamed the band's latest single, 'Behind These Eyes':

The band's new EP will be unleashed on Friday, July 24 in their hometown of Hull at Haworth Arms, with more tour dates to follow.

Three Day Millionaires have supported acts such as Demob Happy and Scottish melodic-pop-punk band Yeah Detroit, and have gained a following on the local punk and metal scene.
