geordie. Drops Official Music Video for “Tastes Like Chocolate”

LOS ANGELES, CA // May 20, 2016: The freshest new vibes coming from the streets of western LA are from rising singer-songwriter and producer, geordie. The “agro-pop” mastermind and postgraduate student at Georgetown University has been maniacally hacking away in his makeshift studio, cultivating a sexual (and sometimes comedic) sonic upheaval unlike any before it.

geordie.’s latest single, “Tastes Like Chocolate,” is about a Caucasian young man who has discovered his budding palate for “less vanilla” tastes. geordie. describes his music as largely autobiographical, and adds, “The song was written about a girl, as is so often the case; the kind of girl you want to celebrate like royalty. A white guy has a crush on this black chick, and he immediately gets this wonderful ego boost because of her mild validation. He thinks he’s the man and that she’s down with him, when in reality she just likes having him around fawning like a puppy.” The song and video clock in at just over four minutes, chock-full of exaggerated flattery and pandering to the new chocolate lady love of his life.

View the Official Music Video for geordie.’s “Tastes Like Chocolate” Below:

One might ask where a fun and sexy lyrical theme like this originates: “The song just appeared out of thin air,” geordie. explains. “I knew I was I was going to write something that was about her because I had no choice. I was thinking only of her. I just didn’t know what it was going to be about until I got to the chorus, and then I found it.” When asked how long it took to craft the words, he replied, “[It was] by far the fastest song I’ve ever completed. Took maybe two days, tops. You basically black out, and wake up and have a song.”

But as geordie. is known to do, there is an honest and forthright theme woven delicately throughout, and in his own words, “this song/video is about the celebration of being with someone you’re proud of. It’s self-deprecating and satirical at its core. I don’t know about anyone else, but when I honestly catch feelings for someone, it shows. There’s really nothing I can do to suppress that.”

The “Tastes Like Chocolate” music video was directed by John Connaboy, Danny Gilani and geordie.

Biography:

Equipped with a free spirit and a mind of his own, geordie. is making moves. The LA-based musician is set on infusing the scene with his incomparable vibe complete with grit, groove, and sexual satire. The self-proclaimed “badass mother fucker poet” draws influence from anything and everything, making his sound something worth hearing. geordie. celebrates individualism through creating tunes with elements spanning from hip-hop to country to straight up sunshine. His breakthrough jam “Tastes Like Chocolate” is a comedic ear-worm bound to reel in new listeners as this artist crafts his next hit.

geordie.’s music is destined to inspire a good time. Listen, laugh, and party on.

Hospitality In The Park - London Elektricity Big Band Announced

For a landmark event we had to pull in a landmark performance. On Saturday 24th September London Elektricity will be taking to the stage at Hospitality In The Park - but not for any ordinary DJ set. He'll be presenting, for the very first time, the London Elektricity Big Band including the return of multi-award winning jazz singer Liane Carroll, rising talent Emer, Reprazent frontman Dynamite MC and an incredible 12-piece brass band from Riot Jazz!

"The London Elekricity Big Band will be a world first - a 12 piece brass band, rhythm section and 3 vocalists playing drum & bass for an hour. This will be totally different to the old 'London Elektricity Live' from 2003. I couldn't and wouldn't have thought about doing this without Liane Carroll, who since we last performed together has won every single award going for best British jazz artist, but moreover she is simply the best living British vocalist in my opinion. We'll be cherry picking moments from the London Elekricity back catalogue, repping "Why Are We Here?" and a couple of surprise selections as well. Hospitality In The Park will be our first and quite possibly only show anywhere in the world this year. Oh I nearly forgot - I get to play bass in the band - that's one tick off of my bucket list!" - London Elektricity

This unmissable performance is just one of the many live sets to be taking place throughout the day. Find out about the other live acts to be joining us at Hospitality In The Park below!

Gentleman's Dub Club will be joining London Elek on the Hospitality mainstage! And 'if the truth be told' this nine-piece band's high energy blend of dub, reggae, roots and ska go hand in hand with our all day outdoor BBQ, blazing sunshine and a beer or two.

Med School's Ukrainian five-piece band The Erised will be making their debut UK performance on Soul In Motion and Med School's stage!

Frederic Robinson will be bringing his unique live show to Soul In Motion and Med School's stage. His live sound synthesis uses a mixture of software and hardware to bring a new lease of life to his own signature style of drum & bass.

Don't miss out on the perfect festival season finale! First release tickets are on sale now, if you want to get your hands on one you better act fast, these are likely to be gone before the month is up!

Book Of Shadows II was released on April 8th, 2016 via Entertainment One Music (eOne Music), Zakk Wylde's first solo release in 20 years. This release is the highly anticipated follow up to 1996’s Book of Shadows LP, a classic album Wylde released between his work with Ozzy Osbourne that has since become a fan favorite. The album debuted at #2 on the Independent Chart, #3 on the Rock Chart and # 6 on the Current Albums Chart, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The fearlessly introspective melancholy and melody of Book of Shadows helped to make its follow-up one of Rolling Stone’s Most Anticipated Albums of 2016. As fierce and diverse as his work in Black Label Society and as large as his accomplishments as lead guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne have been, Book of Shadows II offers an even richer look into the spirit and psyche of one of the most beloved pillars of the hard rock community. Brand new tracks like “Sleeping Dogs,” “Tears of December,” “Darkest Hour,” “Harbors of Pity,” and “The King” are bold proclamations of intense feeling and powerful catharsis.

Zakk Wylde’s powerful pipes, mayhem-inducing charisma, mischievous humor, and instantly recognizable pinch-harmonic driven blues based histrionic guitar shredding have made him the world’s most beloved American Guitar Hero.

SKUMLOVE RESPONDS TO OUTRAGE CREATED BY CONTROVERSIAL SINISTER MINISTER ALBUM COVER

(EDITED NC-17 VERSION OF ALBUM COVER)

"When I decided to make this album cover, I wanted to do something that would make some noise. It just seems that the rebellious, unsafe and offensive side of rock music is going extinct. So what better way to pump a little life into it than to get five naked women wearing masks and make them my personal human throne? EMP has already gotten some up-turned eyebrows but they have stood by me. I don't want your parents to like my music. I don't want your parents to approve of the art. I don't want your pastor to be "OK" with the lyrical content. This is a Rock 'N' Roll; it's dirty, it's ugly and it's offensive. I think it's time we re-teach what Rock 'N' Roll really is. This is my big middle finger to the vanilla music industry. It's time for the zombie apocalypse of Rock 'N' Roll to RISE!" - Skum of Skumlove

Skumlove has recently signed to EMP Label Group and will be releasing their 2nd full length album "SINISTER MINISTER" on June 6, 2016 With a reunion show that same night at the Whisky A GoGo.

Coast Modern drop new track

"Plucky synths rock back and forth like a hammock swaying in the sunset, the perfect nest to cuddle up with your lover and consider how damn lucky you are. Amending your lifestyle isn’t the easiest of tasks, but doing it for the one you love with “Guru” as your soundtrack can definitely be worth it." - Consequence of Sound

"the L.A. duo combines upbeat synth-pop with meandering lyrics that capture the lackadaisical nature of, well, life." - NYLON

"Los Angeles duo Coast Modern made a huge splash with their debut single “Hollow Life.” It’s got around 400,000 streams on SoundCloud and almost a million on Spotify, and they’re keeping that momentum going with new single “Animals.” The song is full-bodied and warm, with a lighthearted bounce and a soaring melody perfect for this transition out of the winter months. Gone Is Gone (Mastodon, At the Drive-In, QOTSA Members) Present ‘Violescent’ In The Studio

New experimental rock band, Gone Is Gone was formed by revered musicians Tony Hajjar, Mike Zarin, Troy Van Leeuwen and Troy Sanders. The collaborative group have announced their self-titled debut EP for a July 8th release through their own imprint label via Rise Records/BMG.

In anticipation of the impending EP, Gone Is Gone have unveiled an in-studio video for their current offering ‘Violescent’here:

In their recent interview with RollingStone.com, Tony Hajjar says “It feels good to know that all this music will see the light of day soon.”

“The vibe from Day 1 was, and has been, very therapeutic and refreshing for me,” adds Troy Sanders. “The chemistry was immediate.”

What was once thought a distant idea, is now reality. It began when members Tony Hajjar and Mike Zarin were writing music for film trailers and they realized they had created a sound that needed a life outside of that medium. It needed a band. Fast forward through some phone calls and drinks: Troy Van Leeuwen was in. The trio met and wrote an EP within the first several sessions, but were still in need of the right vocalist. Upon first listen, Troy Sanders understood the vision and flew to Los Angeles to write and record vocals on the spot. Introducing, Gone Is Gone.

Mercury Girls share new tune, add more east coast shows with Flowers and Fear of Men

Philadelphia, PA’s Mercury Girls features Sarah Schimineck, Kevin Attics, Andrew Hagiwara, Chris Schackerman, and Kevin O'Halloran. Schimineck, formerly of NYC Popfest alums Pet Milk is flanked by the shimmery and adventurous guitar interplay of Attics (Literature, former Pitchfork Media) and O'Halloran (of indie heroes Little Big League, Run For Cover Records). Hagiwara and Schackerman provide a sturdy rhythmic base, creating a sound that's equally lush and driving, using Sarah Records-inspired pop as a basis for savvy de-/reconstruction and sonic experimentation. Despite having only started in March of 2015, the group has achieved a lot. They've collected many endorsements, including those from Chickfactor Magazine, Pains of Being Pure at Heart's Kip Berman and NPR, they've shared the stage with bands such as Expert Alterations, Joanna Gruesome, Beverly, TEEN, Eternal Summers, and their 2016 SxSW visit was a head-turning, mind-melting blast.

Now they cap off their first year with the release of their debut single, Ariana. While their sound uses classic indiepop as a jumping-off point, there are bits of shoegaze, post-punk and DIY punk in the mix that recall like-minded bands like Veronica Falls, Makthaverskan, Fear of Men and Frankie Rose. "Ariana" is gorgeous tangle of chorused, jangling guitars and Sarah's dreamlike vocals. A marvelous two and a half minutes of perfect, forward-thinking pop.

Here we find the band sharing the AA-side and it forms a marvelous counterpoint to "Ariana." "All That Heaven Allows" leans more on the band's post-punk inspirations, marked by a careening rhythm and a huge chorus that will stick in your head for days.

Ariana is out May 20th, just in time for the band's engagement at NYC Popfest alongside legends The Primitives and The Chesterfields. The spring is looking to be fully scheduled with shows up and down the east coast, keeping the band busy while they write and record their highly-anticipated debut album, slated for release on Slumberland this fall.

Order the single HERE.

Upcoming shows:

May 20 - Philadelphia, PA at Space 1026 (Steve Keene Art Exhibit with My Favorite, The Snow Faeries) May 21 - New York, New York at Knitting Factory (NYC Popfest w/The Primitives, The Chesterfields & more) June 11 - New York, New York at Cake Shop (with Flowers, Expert Alterations, DJs Kip Berman, Drew Citron, Bill Pearis) June 14 - Philadelphia, PA at Johnny Brenda’s (with Flowers, Beverly) July 01 - Philadelphia, PA at Johnny Brenda’s (with Fear of Men) August 12 - Athens, GA (Athens Popfest)

Join The Safe Side As They ‘Blossom’: Essex Pop Punks Unveil Sophomore EP Details & Stream Lead Single

“When we listen to our own songs we try to look at them like this: would we listen to them if we weren’t in the band?” muses Danny Gaisford, bassist of Essex pop punks, Safe Side. “We genuinely would,” he (fortunately) confirms. “There would be no point writing the songs if we didn't believe in them. There's loads of underground bands in the scene at the moment, and I hope that we have set ourselves apart; we’re certainly very proud of our new songs and feel that there’s something different about them.”

Said new songs form Safe Side’s sophomore E.P ‘Blossom’, a collection of highly infectious tuneage which successfully blends the band’s pop punk roots with elements of Alternative rock, and vocalist Frank Yates’ distinctly homegrown delivery. “Frank's voice sets us apart,” opines Danny; “Pop punk is known for American pronunciation, no matter where you are from. So having a particularly British voice in our sound is a good thing; the genre is bursting at the seams at the moment, which is great of course, but I think it's always good to look outside of the box sometimes and push yourself to try something different. And for us that is layering a distinct kind of vocal over our instrumentation.”

To match their creative step up, Safe Side – completed by guitarists Jordan Tuffen and Chris Smart, and drummer Callum Tuffen – moved from the home studio environment of their debut E.P to tracking the songs of ‘Blossom’ at Southampton’s The Ranch (Milk Teeth, Creeper, Boston Manor). “The ‘real studio’ environment was very much an eye opener for us, we learned a lot from going there,” Danny recalls; “Only a couple of us had ever been to a studio before, and we really wanted to collectively experience that learning curve. And as a result we think ‘Blossom’ feels more like a real record. We took time on it and put a lot of thought and effort into every part, and we think it shows. We wanted to make sure it's something we would want to listen to as fans.”

GREGORY PORTER BECOMES FIRST JAZZ ARTIST TO BREAK INTO UK TOP 5 FOR OVER A DECADE with new album 'Take Me To The Alley'

This generation’s most successful jazz and soul singer-songwriter, the man in the hat, Gregory Porter, makes chart history today with his newly-released album 'Take Me To The Alley', which becomes the first jazz record to break into the Top 5 for over ten years.

Released last Friday, the critically-acclaimed 'Take Me To The Alley', was met by 4 and 5 star album reviews across the board in the national press, and becomes Porter's highest chart position yet.

This extreme lift in popularity puts Gregory safely above current pop albums from the likes of Justin Bieber, Jess Glynne and Adele and just behind Drake, Beyonce, Skepta and Radiohead. It is the first time a jazz album has been in the Top 5 of the charts since Jamie Cullum with 'Catching Tales' in 2005.

Commenting on this impressive achievement, Porter stated: "I'm very grateful for the success of Take Me To The Alley. The chart position it's reached around the world is very exciting, and its success is an example of the acceptance of my music. I am very thankful."

This level of public affection has seen Porter become an adopted national treasure in this country, having performed for the Queen multiple times, and graced the stages of the UK's best venues and summer festivals. The singer recently featured as the only musical performance on BBC1's 'Attenborough at 90' and joined the country's best performers on BBC2's 'Shakespeare Live!'. He also led a chorus of music stars, including Mumford and Sons, in a moving version of Prince's 'Purple Rain' on BBC2's 'Later with Jools'.‎

Last month saw Porter complete an extensive sold-out UK Headline Tour, opening and closing at prestigious London venues The Royal Albert Hall and Hammersmith Apollo. And after a show-stopping performance at Glastonbury last year, Gregory returns to the UK's biggest music festival next month to perform on the Pyramid Stage, on Sunday 26th June at 1pm, on the bill with such artists as Muse, Adele, Coldplay and Beck who also perform headline slots at this year's festival.

Porter stated: "Glastonbury has a tradition of being open to all types of music but it's really exciting to be performing on the main stage. The audience response to my performance last year really blew me away - the incredible musical atmosphere - I'm really looking forward to performing again and bringing my music back to Glastonbury this summer."

The Devil’s Bleeding Crown pairs a galloping guitar riff with propulsive thrashed-out grooves. The band performed it only once in entirety last summer in Odense, Denmark and had fans waiting for more. The track quickly builds into an anthemic refrain meant to be chanted at festivals worldwide. It’s classic VOLBEAT through and through.

Earlier this week the band teased album details to their dedicated fans by creating an online treasure hunt. Clues for the album title were left in streaming playlists, listed on their social media channels, and in the Rebels & Angels community forum. Once fans uncovered the words from the album title, they entered those words on the Volbeat website to reveal the characters from the album cover art which also unlocked the album pre-order. They also unveiled a video teaser for the album. Check out the teaser here:

Produced by longtime collaborator Jacob Hansen and co-produced by frontman Michael Poulsen and lead guitarist Rob Caggiano, the record includes a total of 13 new tracks, reflecting their signature hybrid of rock prowess, metal power, blues soul, and rockabilly swing. The full tracklisting is below.

On the new album, “After months writing and recording, we’re thrilled to finally be able to unleash Seal the Deal & Let’s Boogie into the world,” says lead singer Michael Poulsen. "Play it loud!”

Danish Bass Player Kaspar Boye To Join The Wildly Successful Rock Band VOLBEAT

”We are happy to announce that Kaspar Boye Larsen is officially now the new bass player in VOLBEAT. We just got back from a great US tour and Kaspar showed as we expected that he's the real deal. The fans love him and we can't wait for the rest of you to hook up with us as a full band again on our coming shows.”

Kaspar Larsen has previously been part of punk rock outfit The Hitchcocks and alt metal The Kandidate, and even went on a tour with Volbeat as a support act in 2010. Kaspar Boye Larsen will have his European debut on Rock am Ring June 3rd, same day as the album is released worldwide. Kaspar elaborates:

"10 years ago I returned from VOLBEAT’s very first European tour that I joined as a tour session bass player. I was so proud of playing with one of my favorite bands and loaded with great memories of good times but also sad that it was over. A lot of things have happened in the meantime but the songs are as great as ever and I’m super stoked to be joining one of my favorite bands on stage, only this time on a permanent basis! I’m very grateful that the guys thought of me after all these years and I can’t wait to see you all out there!"

You will also see Kaspar Boye Larsen featured in the brand new music video to The Devil’s Bleeding Crown.

BLUES PILLS reveal 'Lady In Gold' cover artwork & 5th August release date

Multi-national newcomer sensation BLUES PILLS have revealed the cover artwork for their eagerly awaited second album. 'Lady In Gold' will be released on August 5, 2016 and will contain 10 brand new tracks (see full tracklisting below).

Bassist, founding member and main songwriter Zach Anderson comments: "The design comes from the dutch artist Marijke Koger-Dunham who already worked with us for the first album cover. We are super proud to have the opportunity to work again with such a legendary artist who has even worked with THE BEATLES, CREAM and many more. The original design was made by her 50 years ago. We worked together to adapt the colors to fit the mood of the album. Hopefully our fans will like it as much as we do."

Commented singer Elin Larsson on the choice of the album's title: "Lady gold is a character who symbolizes death. We wanted a twist on the typical stereotype of death being the grim reaper. So instead we made her a lady in gold."

Lady In Gold tracklisting:

01. Lady In Gold 02. Little Boy Preacher 03. Burned Out 04. I Felt A Change 05. Gone So Long 06. Bad Talkers 07. You Gotta Try 08. Won't Go Back 09. Rejection 10. Elements And Things

Just like it's highly successful predecessor 'Lady In Gold' was once again produced by Don Alsterberg (GRAVEYARD, DIVISION OF LAURA LEE, JOSÉ GONZÁLEZ, JERRY WILLIAMS).

Brighton rockers CITY OF ASHES reveal new video for single 'Vipers Nest'

Brighton rockers CITY OF ASHES are pleased to reveal the details of their new single 'Vipers Nest', taken from the bands brand new album ‘Rise’. Some bands like to write music about their life experiences but CITY OF ASHES like to capture their fans imagination and run.

We felt it was the right time to show people that side of our sound."

The new album saw the band sell out their album release show in London, after hitting the road with Scottish quintet Yashin last month. SOUL ASYLUM ANNOUNCES NEW TOUR DATES WITH THE ENGLISH BEAT

Minneapolis rockers Soul Asylum announces new U.S. tour dates with The English Beat in support of its newest album, Change of Fortune, which was released on March 18, 2016.

In addition, the second single from the album, “Doomsday,” will impact at radio on May 23rd. The song was featured as the Song of the Day on Minneapolis’ tastemaker station KCMP The Current. Listen to “Doomsday” here.

Change of Fortune is three years in the making, recorded while the band toured non-stop, had a few line-up changes and some soul searching, but upon listening to Change of Fortune, it’s clear the band’s trademark ragged-but-right sound is still very much intact.

About Change of Fortune, Blurt Magazine writes that the album ““kicks serious f*cking ass,” while Relix adds, “the new album shows a band still at the peak of their prowess, with clear potential for garnering whatever fortunes the future may hold.” And Innocent Words offers, “’Change of Fortune’ is a straightforward rock & roll album led by Pirner’s poetic gift for storytelling and finds the frontman soul-searching along the way…while maintaining that signature Soul Asylum sound which so many fans love.”

The heart and soul of Soul Asylum remains and they continue to produce heartfelt and passionate rock n’ roll. The band consists of David Pirner on guitar and vocals, Michael Bland on drums, Winston Roye on bass and Justin Sharbono on guitar.

MORTIIS first video of short film trilogy by Reinert Kiil launched / UK Tour starting at the end of May

Mortiis has launched a new video for the track ‘Geisteskrank’ (Vardøger). The video is the first of three short films by noted Norwegian shock filmmaker Reinert Kiil for which Mortiis contributed the soundtrack. It officially debuted on Metal Hammer's website.

The song ‘Geisteskrank’ is accompanied by Kiil's mind-blowing visuals accompany and was recorded during the same sessions that yielded Mortiis' latest work, ‘The Great Deceiver’ album which is out now via Omnipresence.

Kiil who has made a name as Norway's only Grindhouse filmmaker, decided to collaborate with Mortiis as both parties were intrigued by the idea of delving into the other's art form, but both were waiting to find that kindred soul to capture a shared essence which they found in each other.

"The video unpleasantness continues - a while back Norwegian horror director Reinert Kiil started his short film trilogy based on his own ugly descent into depravity and violence. Never ones to turn our backs to a good cause, we leaped at the opportunity to provide the soundtrack to what is essentially a good old bashing. ‘Vardøger’ is the first part. I've seen the next one, and it just keeps getting worse” says Mortiis.

He continues: ”The music is sonically fused with a glimpse of his soul - or crazed mind or whatever it might be - and it is complete, a sordid success. The result is sleazy, strange, disturbing, and extremely violent."

The band will return to the UK later this month for a 7 date strong headline run to debut songs from their latest release ’The Great Deceiver’ - dates below.

SISTER SIN Frontwoman LIV JAGRELL Launches Solo Career with LIV SIN

From the gutters of south Sweden, Liv “Sin” Jagrell emerged as a major force as the vocalist for hard rockers Sister Sin. Throughout their 13 year career, Sister Sin sold thousands of albums and toured the world with high profile tours supporting the likes of Slayer and King Diamond on the Rockstar Mayhem festival tour, as well as being a part of the Revolver Magazine ”Hottest Chicks in Metal” tour. Sister Sin toured relentlessly for over a decade across Europe and North America garnering an intensely loyal following of rockers that craved the band’s aggressive and melodic brand of hard rock.

When Sister Sin called it quits at the end of 2015, Liv knew that she had much more to give to her fans. From this, LIV SIN was born. Liv is currently working on a new music that shows the power, sexiness, and attitude that she is known for. Liv says ”for me it has never been an option to stop singing. I live for the stage and for my fans. I still miss Sister Sin, but I am very excited to work on my own project, and I can promise it will not be some soft pop rock. This is going to be metal deluxe, because that’s who I am!" LIV SIN offers a modernized hard rock sound to take Liv into her next phase, a sound that is destined to please both new fans and her longtime fans of Sister Sin.

DAN SUGARMAN RELEASES FIRST NEW TRACK VIA PATREON

Former As Blood Runs Black guitarist collaborates with Alex Hofman (vocals, Fallujah) on "The Unattainable"

Earlier this year, Dan Sugarman (alum, As Blood Runs Black) independently released his progressive metal debut, Centersun.

Last month, Sugarman launched the next phase of his solo career: Inside Out, an entirely fan-funded release to be distributed one song at a time, exclusively through Patreon.

Every month, fans can donate to the project and receive specific perks. You can read all about Sugarman's Patreon campaign HERE. A portion of all proceeds go towards a charity of the Patrons' choice.

"After stepping away from As Blood Runs Black, and moving forward with my new album, Inside Out, I thought it was time to go back to my roots and pick up where I left off in my previous band, Fallen Figure. In Fallen Figure, I found my voice by utilizing all of the exotic scales and dynamics found in the different sub-genres of death metal. I was able to express my ideas without boundaries.

Choosing Alex Hofmann to do vocals for this was a simple choice, since Fallujah was one of the very first bands I toured with in Fallen Figure, and have always looked up to him as a vocalist, a person, and an artist (he did the song's artwork, as well as most of Fallujah's art)."
