LAMB OF GOD - unleashes official ‚Overlord‘ music video

Richmond, VA based heavy rock band LAMB OF GOD will release their highly-anticipated seventh full-length album, »VII: Sturm und Drang«, July 24, 2015 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment with whom the band signed a record deal for all territories outside of North America.

LAMB OF GOD have just revealed the official music video for their brand new track ‚Overlord‘. ‚Overlord' is directed by Jorge Torres-Torres.

'Overlord' is what some may consider the most unique and versatile track on the record – a new play on the revered LAMB OF GOD sound. The track 'Overlord‘ uniquely features clean vocals and lyrics penned by vocalist Randy Blythe, and the video itself features his own personal concept and treatment.

“For years I've wished that I could have a movie camera directly linked to my brain so that some of the ideas I see in my mind's eye could be translated into film for others to watch,” Blythe begins. “Although that is obviously an impossibility (and probably a good thing- I find many things amusing that might not be so funny to everyone else), the video for 'Overlord' is the next best thing for me. I came up with the idea and wrote the treatment for this video myself- to see Jorge (the director) take my concept, add his own touches, and use his technical know-how to translate my "mental script" into a suitably dark visual narrative is just an awesome, awesome experience for me.

I wrote the song about the dangers of self-obsession in our distressingly myopic and increasingly entitled "me-now/now-me" culture; just like the couple in the video, many people can't seem to look past their own relatively small problems to see the bigger picture: the world is in serious trouble. Having a bad day at work, or a fight with your significant other, or getting a crappy haircut or table service does not in any way shape or form constitute an emergency. Sometimes things just don't work out the way we want them to- deal with it. People who only see their own problems eventually wind up alone because no one wants to hear their crap anymore- we all know someone like that, always whining and complaining about some inconsequential setback as if it were the apocalypse. This song is for those people.

Oh yeah- if you're out and about, watching the video on your pocket hate machine (mobile phone), try not to wander into traffic. A little situational awareness goes a long way."

WE CAME AS ROMANS Announce New Self-Titled Album - To Be Released July 24th via Spinefarm Records

Performing on the Main Stage All Summer Long on the 2015 Vans Warped Tour

We Came As Romans have officially announced their highly anticipated self-titled new album, which will be released July 24th, 2015 via Spinefarm Records. The album was recorded with multi-platinum, award-winning producer David Bendeth (Bring Me The Horizon, Paramore, Of Mice & Men), and is now available for pre-order at one of the following links:

iTunes

WCAR UK merch store

“Writing this record with David Bendeth was very intense,” states vocalist Dave Stephens. “If a song wasn't great, it was rewritten until it was, and if it still wasn't great, it was cut. We wrote close to 40 songs for this record and only ten made the album. Beyond becoming better writers and musicians, it made us stronger as a band and as a team.”

Today, We Came As Romans release a brand new song taken from the album. Fans can now stream the lead single, “The World I Used To Know” via soundcloud.

The band explains the new song by stating, “When we were younger, we had a youthful spirit that made us less fearful of the changing world around us. Even though we've lost that and are now more aware of the negativity in the world, we need to remember those days and view the world with a hopeful spirit.”

“The World I Used To Know” will be offered as an instant grat track when pre-ordered digitally from iTunes.

Commented the band: "Got a new album coming your way in September called Innocence & Decadence. It's gonna be an album filled to the rim with a little bit of this - and for all of those who might wonder or worry - there will be quite a lot of that on it as well. We've had a great time recording the album at the "gemytliga" Atlantis Studios in Stockholm together with Janne Hansson and Johan Lindström. And after kinda being away from our daily routine as a touring band and the thrill of a new album on its way ..... we wanna leave you with... Good to be gone, great to be back and let there be September!“ - Axel, Joakim, Jonathan & Truls aka Graveyard

A European headlining tour will be announced shortly.
