Lupe Fuentes & Javi Lopez come together on Kerri Chandler's ‘MadTech 03 with "To Perfection"!
Kerri Chandler’s MadTech Records is back with a new compilation this September, entitled ‘MadTech 03’ and comprising fourteen original tracks from many leading names in contemporary house music.
It’s been yet another fantastic year for MadTech with releases from the likes of Cera Alba, Artifact and Kalyde, picking up support along the way from the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Huxley, Dubspeeka and BBC Radio 1’s Monki. Here the label returns with yet another hard hitting various artists package, with the likes of PMR’s No Artificial Colours, Bontan, Circus’s Yousef and Leftwing & Kody all delivering brand new exclusive material for the comp.
In true MadTech fashion the ‘03’ compilation offers up an array or raw, dance floor focused house cuts ranging from the hypnotic and infectious grooves of Rockaforte’s ‘Hyper Muzik’ and Lupe Fuentes & Javi Lopez’ ‘To Perfection’, through to more direct house workouts from Max Chapman, No Artificial Colours, Bontan and Rich Wakley.
Montel takes things into old school realms with the organ drenched ‘Horizons’, SEFF and Kashii bring a bassy edge to things with skippy and pitched vocal chops, while Demarzo and Fabricio Pecanha tip the focus into darker realms with a more progressive, electronic focus. All in all MadTech once again deliver fourteen essentials tracks for the current climate of modern electronic music.
ALBUM SET FOR RELEASE OCTOBER 13 VIA RUDE RECORDS
Ahead of their UK headline tour this winter, pop punk heroes Zebrahead have today unveiled details of a new full-length studio album called ‘Walk The Plank’ , set for release through Rude Records on October 13th.
The album of heavy punk mixed with hooky pop songs was recorded in Buzzbomb Studios, Orange County with long time friend and old writing, recording and touring partner of band member Dan, Paul Miner.
On the album’s title, Ben Ozz comments:
“Touring all the time and traveling can be a bit of a pirate's sort of life so it fits in that sense. So in a way to us it's about taking a chance in life and walking the plank of life. It could also just be too much rum in the Mai Tai also but that's another story!”
He continues... “It's one of our best sounding records to date! We wanted it to sound like you're in an arm wrestling competition at the beach while doing a keg stand! Hopefully it'll take you on that journey before the ice in your cocktail melts!”
The first taste of what’s to come can be seen in the form of this lyric video for ‘Save Your Breath’…
‘Walk The Plank’ follows the recent split EP ‘Out Of Control’ with Man With A Mission that impressively charted at number 1 in the Japanese iTunes rock chart and number 2 in the overall physical chart for the whole country.

The five gentlemen who bring the Fort to life met a decade ago at the famously freewheeling site of institutional discovery called Wesleyan University. With two early EPs under their belts, the band earned glowing reviews in The New York Times and support slots opening for HAIM, Future Islands, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra- not to mention love from blogosphere tastemakers like Stereogum and Consequence of Sound.
Today, the Brooklyn-based band satisfy fans with a new track, "Easily" taken from their special "New Hobbies EP." Fans can purchase the exclusive EP at indie record stores in September and from the band directly while out on tour.
Fresh off national tours with Chappo, Yukon Blonde and Dave Monks (Tokyo Police Club), Fort Lean are gearing up to unleash the next installment from the fort - their debut LP, Quiet Day due October 2, 2015 via Ooh La La Records. The album is a collision of moods and tones, approachable and ambitious but delivered with a sideways subtlety. The collective songwriting is cohesive yet contains the disparate perspectives of its five writers. This is versatile stuff, appropriate for a crowd at a party or for the introspective head phoner.
Austrian band Sergeant Steel doesn’t play Hard Rock anymore. The sextette wants to release Hip Hop music instead. They are supported by legendary producer Michael Wagener. Linz/Austria, Nashville/Tennessee/USA –Michael Wagener made music history. The German-American produced and engineered for Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Skid Row and many others. He also worked on „Black Cat“ (1990), a single by RnB superstar Janet Jackson. His profile perfectly meets the new needs of Sergeant Steel. They found an experienced mentor for moving into a new musical direction. Sergeant Steel now counts on rap instead of rock, a necessary next step to bring their career back on track.
The mini documentary „The all new Sergeant Steel recording Hip Hop album w/ Michael Wagener“ allows an exclusive view behind-the-scenes including a personal statement of Wagener. It reveals the key moments of a musical transition: Away from distorted guitar sounds, towards gangsta rhymes and turntable scratches.
