Rave The Reqviem Premiere Music Video For "Aeon" At Bloody-Digusting

Swedish electronic metal act Rave The Reqviem are breaking into the American scene with the premiere of their graphic and gripping new music video, "Aeon." The dark, industrial-rooted track with religious and horror-filled imagery debuted at Bloody-Disgusting yesterday. The song comes off the band's latest record, "Rave The Reqviem," which was released internationally via Japanese-based label Digital World Audio last April.

Rave The Reqviem mastermind Filip Lönnqvist, who fronts the band alongside his mother Carola, said this about the new video:

"Since I'd consider myself being a pretentious and ambitious perfectionist, I'm stunned by the fact that these guys managed to deliver a music video which made me 100% satisfied. It's the perfect visual propaganda for our grotesque little sect."

"The video makes heavy use of religious imagery, juxtaposing the softness of angelic hymns, courtesy of vocalist/songwriter Filip Lönnqvist’s mother, with the darkness and anger of metal." — Jonathan Barkan, Bloody-Disgusting.

About Rave The Reqviem: Rave The Reqviem was founded by Filip Lönnqvist during late fall 2011. The purpose of the project was to combine rock and metal with modern electronic music, including everything from electro-industrial to drum 'n' bass and dubstep. Filip's mother, Carola, joined forces with her son — adding her ethereal soprano voice to the music. Thus, creating a polarized and bittersweet sound where mechanical darkness meets beauty and sentiment was complete.

After two self-released demos in 2013, RTR immediately gained attention in the international underground scene, signing a a record deal with DWA and releasing their self-titled debut album on April 11, 2014.
