AVANTASIA - 'Ghostlights' out today, new video and Tobias reveals the full line-up for first ever UK headline show on 8th March

Avantasia release epic new album 'Ghostlights' today and mainman Tobias Sammet has just unveiled the list of musicians who will perform with him on-stage when the band unleash their magic live in London (for the first ever time) at The Forum on 8th March.

“Can you believe it? After a brief Best-of-Avantasia set at Bloodstock 2013 - on March 8th AVANTASIA will be back in the UK to deliver their complete show: More than 3 hours of music with the full stage production. When I was a young musician, all those business experts said that this kind of music only works in Japan and continental Europe. They said it’s DEAD in the UK. What!? You INVENTED this kind of music: Queen, Maiden, The Who, Lloyd-Webber, Spinal Tap… Anyway, it means a lot to me to bring the Metal Opera to London. And I won't come on my own: my fellow Avantasians will be Michael Kiske (ex-Helloween), Bob Catley (Magnum), Eric Martin (Mr. Big), Ronnie Atkins (Pretty Maids), Jorn Lande (ex-Masterplan), Amanda Somerville, Oliver Hartmann, Herbie Langhans (Sinbreed) and many more. I can't wait to celebrate the release of our new album ‘Ghostlights’ with you all. See you there!” -Tobias Sammet

As well as this special London show the Avantasia 'Ghostlights' world tour will take the project to Russia, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Brazil, Austria, Scandinavia, Switzerland, Argentina, Chile, USA, Canada, Mexico, Hungary, Slovakia, France, Japan not to mention ten cities throughout Germany.

Before all that though Tobias will play the glorious Meatloaf-esque rocker 'Mystery Of A Blood Red Rose' live on German National TV ARD as the country chooses their song to be put forward for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, to be held in Stockholm this year. The selection process takes place on 25th February and if successful Avantasia will have the rare chance to bring real rock music into this bastion of pop.

After he got the invitation to take part, Tobias Sammet thought about it for a while: "It seemed like a quite unusual idea to compete with anyone in art, to play music against someone. It's still weird anyhow, to play music against each other like in the Olympic Games. Anyway, who am I to get in the way of a great promotional opportunity?! Three minutes to show millions that we exist?"

Lucky fans not only have a brand new album to listen to today but also an official video for the track 'Mystery Of A Blood Red Rose'! Watch the beautifully shot and epic video over on YouTube:
